Hi Jeroni! I'm back. I followed this CJ the past weeks and maybe months but I never posted. You know, I had my final exams (I finished them, yay!), I was busy with a girl (I may call her my girlfriend now, yay!) and I had some other things to do. Anyway, now I have lot's of time so here's my message! You CJ is getting better and better. In the beginning, it was awesome, and totally new. Nobody worked like you did. But if I compare for example the dirst few pages to the newest pages, I still see a lot of improvement in your skills, and they were already awesome in the beginning. I really like how this CJ developed to one of the most visited and longest one. Thumbs up for that! Also, and you probably noticed yourself, some other great CJ's in simtropolis are inspired by you, and those people work like you do, the style of the CJ, but also the style of their city is inspired by you. And there are probably a lot of people like me, who don't have a CJ but build your cities a bit like you do. I also noticed that you made those great trails. They're great. I use them, and it's exactly what I need. There are some other trails out there, but those don't fit my needs. You're trails have not too much props on it, and are just beautiful. Another thing I like about your trails is that those are in the transportation menu. I'm critical too. I'm probably the first one that doesn't like your big airport. The airport itself is beautiful. But look at the region map! The airport seems a too big to me. Look at the hills you see in the bottom of the maps. Some small villages in the valleys must be great, with some farms on the hills, and some of those nice homes on the hills for the rich guys, surrounded by farms. Stay on earth Jeroni, it's just a few compliments! -Rick

great CJ, aldara Your parks are beautiful, and from looking at the pictures I got some new inspiration to use in my own city.

Date: 3/3/2005 7:47:37 AM Author: aldara6166 I realize you can import images, but I'm referring to how it was possible with previous versions to simply go in to the game and make a selection and the game created a totally random region. You could then terraform this region or play it as is. I hate having to wait sometimes as much as an hour for the game to generate a region from a file I import which is why I try to do it only when absolutely necessary. As I already said, it's not possible to generate a random terrain. I think it would be too complicated for the game to do. If it takes one hour to get all terrain info from an image, how long would it take for the game to calculate all points in a region? There's a HUGE amount of points in a whole region. EDIT: In earlier versions of simcity the grid is a lot smaller. -

Date: 3/2/2005 3:16:20 PM Author: aldara6166 Would be nice if we didn't have to download new regions but rather have a random region generator...or is this an option I've overlooked? I hate having to spend time terraforming a new area when all I want is something random.quote> There's no random terrain generator. Just download a nice terrain from the map exchange. This is a tunnel, roundabout and a start of a highway, of course everything around still has to be developed! http://members.home.nl/r.m.heuijerjans/sc4/Riverside-2-3-05_tunnelVliegveld-AutowBegin.jpg align=baseline> http://members.home.nl/r.m.heuijerjans/sc4/Riverside-2-3-05_tunnelAvRail-AutowSideramp.jpg align=baseline> -

Date: 3/2/2005 10:01:37 AM Author: aldara6166 You guys are just too great. I am certainly no 'newbie' to the SimCity series, as I've been building in all 4 versions since the original Sim City over 10 years ago. My problem is though, I seem to always try new arrangements for my transportation network and always revert back to the standard 'square block' arrangement. I also need to get better at getting my trains and monorails to be better utilized. My subways and buses are used anywhere from 25% to 125%, depending on the area they are at. But when I try to use trains or monorails instead I never, except for a select few instances, get any use at all. In those select few instances, I usually only get utilization of like 1% or less. I need help...I just guess I have lost my sense of imagination or something. quote> Use the terrain, try to avoid building on steep hills, this forces you to lay your roads in another direction. Also try to make some bends your highways, avenues and roads. That should help. And about your train usage, use rails in combination with bus stops. So lay a rail from residential to industrial, build some station, put a bus stop next to each station, and build some bus stops in places that can't be reached by train. Sims will use bus or car to get to a station, then use train to get to a station near their work, and then walk or use bus to get on their work. -
Date: 3/1/2005 5:33:31 PM Author: greenlemon44 Hi, does anyone know where you can get the connection between the end of a highway and an avenue as shown in the first picture of page one?! (I have attached the picture in an attachment)quote> that thing came with rush hour, or the deluxe edition, i think. As Ю

Here, this is what I made. I think they're beautiful, but it needs some more development around it. This is a roundabout on top of a highway. In fact the onramps and the offramps in the center of the roundabout must be removed http://members.home.nl/r.m.heuijerjans/sc4/Riverside-2-3-05_rotondeEi-tunnelIngang.jpg align=baseline> This one just looks nice (the development around it sucks: http://members.home.nl/r.m.heuijerjans/sc4/Riverside-2-3-05_AutowTeeMooi.jpg align=baseline> damn im too late for school, i got more pics but no time -

there's some great things in this thread, but i don't like the things that are not useful, or that have avenues that are way to steep I will get screenshots of some of the simple things I made when I'm going to play tonight. -
/me downloads Marrast Embankment Set , they look sooooooo good in your CJ. Nice to see that they can also be used on land.... and how beautiful! I see that your name is in it, jeroni: First of all, I'd like to thank Jeroni for making a custom overlay texture for this set. I also want to congratulate you with the lots you made. I have them all, and I'm using them all exept the Shore Conforming SeaWalls. The parking lots you made are in my opinion the best I found, some have too many light poles, other parking lots are just ugly. Haha Hey, you have that big park with the pond in pic 37.4, I have that one too! LOL, who cares And a question for you, do you use a mod for your roads? They have different lines. I searched for it, but maybe not good enough! Please tell me.

Jeroni, my inspirator I started a new region last weekend, and I worked almost the whole weekend on it with my brother. I showed him this CJ and he told me to download some more lots you showed, and we built some great things together, also using the tunneling mod. I saw this CJ when you started it, and I followed it till page 10? and back then this CJ already was great, but now it's one of the most active CJ's with probably the most posts/day from users, and also a lot of updates from you Jeroni. Keep it up

This is great! Do you plop or zone, or both? I don't know if this question has been asked before.

whoahh, it is still great since last time i looked. Yeah it's a while ago, but I looked at all the pics i missed.... and i must say, I really like it. Keep it up!
