ExiL3 replied to geoff_diamond's topic in SC4 BAT & Lot Workshop
Wow, great to hear. So how is the progress on that Split building? Love to see some pictures! Keep up the luuvley work! -
palmgurl: Wow, heh, thank you. Glad to hear that my CJ is THAT nice, heheh. Well, keep coming back for more updates! gmac_oboe: Indeed incredible, heheh, no but really, thank you . I do put a lot of work into my transportation network, so I'm glad to hear that it looks good! -And wow, cool page 5! THAT ROCKS! The Big Z: Thank you too, this is what keeps me posting my pictures in this forum, It's exciting cause you don't know what people think. Then, when you get positive response it feals great, like you have accomplished something. -About the trees; That is how i wanted Maybury to look, a busy city, but with lots of green areas for people to relax in. that is probably why the life-expectance is so high in my region, people get less stressed ... to be continued...

WOW, nice updates! That lake in the last picture looks a bit dried out though, heh looks cool! And I can see that you have really specialized in building small towns, wich is very european, looks good too! I enjoyed this update, keep it up!

I'm a liberal my self and I say bring on the realism, that's what everyone are talking about all the time right? And it is, as Klemvast stated, a simulation so... What is wrong with a XXX-shop? Seriously, there aren't even small pictures of bodys on the shop! The building just says XXX-shop, I just think this conversation is ridicioulus, there is loads of sex, violence, and other stuff that may be striking on TV all day that children watch. Personally i think it's more dangerous if children are NOT educated in sex, but enough about that, if people want to talk more about this subject it should be moved to a different thread, or to a different forum! NOT HERE! So I support you SG, keep up the outstanding work, it's a human right to say what you want and express yourself so there is nothing wrong about your shop. Take care!

So... NOT REALLY A UPDATE - UPDATE -This not really a update update will be just be some screenshots of the Skylines that you will find in Maybury region. I'm not quite finished with South Maybury city, and I don't want to show it before I'm finito, capiche? So, off we go to; The location of the pictures(blue outlines the location of the different shots): Maybury city: Maybury city 2: Maybury city 3: West Chester: West Chester 2: West Chester 3: Croftham: Croftham 2: Triton city: Marydale: That was all the downtown areas in my region, except for South Maybury city wich isn't finished yet. SC4 meister: Thank you, I hope you liked the skyline pictures. Keep coming back! Announcement: Well I'm halfway into my exams now, and I got an idea for a CJ. I have always been interested in history and I thought about making a CJ about modern norwegian history. Norway today is very different from how it was before the second world war. I'm thinking of starting the CJ exactly after our independance in 1945. I don't want to give away too much info right now, but I can guarantee that it will be interesting, and you'll all hopefully learn something at the same time . I wont end this CJ in some time yet, but I'll stop posting frequently in June so to the people that enjoy this CJ, comment here as much as you can before it's too late! Well see you all soon! Take care!

Oh my, what can I say,.. Well it looks OUTSTANDING!!! I just love the detail you put in your cities, it's really inspiring! Hope the next update will be just as good! Take care!
-
Speedy: heh, yeah I'm Norwegian (Grimstad yeah!), heh didn't read the introduction, stupid me... Well where are all the updates?? hehe I would love to see more!
-
Congrats on your first CJ! I must say your Region looks very interesting, though not very dutch, hehe... I always like to see rural CJ's so I'll keep an eye on this one! Keep it up! Take care!
-
The Big Z: Thank you! I always make my cities look like they would be a good place to live, or a ok place to live. Reason for that is that I don't think that any city is made to scare away residents. I mean all cities would like to be a good place to live. I know that there are many cities on this planet that aren't a good place to live, but SC4 is kind of a dream world, and you can make everything the way you want. That's why I love this game so much! aleking: Thank you, and yeah you should. Always great to hear that people enjoy my CJ and that keeps me going. So yes, please return for the next update tomorrow, and remember that constructive critisism or help is always welcome! See you all tomorrow! Take care!
-
Great update! I'm glad to see that you continiued with you CJ even though you had to start all over again. And I agree with you, your region actually looks better! I have to say that I just love the way you build your farms and rural area, I can see that you have speciallized in this kind of development. The picture with the horses running away from that small island looks incredible, you got that picture to look so natural, GREAT WORK! Take care!

Would It be possible to get a accurate map of Oslo, Norway??? Would love to have it! Thank you in advance.
-
gurrgkud: Wow, thank you. Short but very nice comment, always like to hear such nice words! thank you! dhoppeii: Hi again! Thank you, personally I really like a fading downtown too. But sometimes I like skyscrapers that brake the enviroment around (as in South Maybury city). This city ,West Chester, is also the first city I made for this CJ, so I have put a lot of time into it. It has actually been built three times, cause I wasn't satisfied with how the others turned out! Thank you for your kind words! Keep them coming. There will be a new update tomorrow, so stay tuned!
-
Oh man, I just love the way you make your farms! And the zoomed out picture looked great! Hope that you'll be able to fix your problem, take care!

Now... UPDATE 17 -Thank you for your comments, I will answer them at the end of this update. Well, It's time again for a new update. As I told you I was on a huge party from Thursday to Sunday (yeah, 4 days of partying ) together with 10,000 other graduation students of my age. It was held in Stavanger, Norway, and is very special cause there is no party like this anywhere else in the world. I mean wich other coutry has STUDENTS spending hundreds of thousands (kroner, 1 dollar= 6.1kr or so) on A bus and huge soundsystems!? Some rich kids used over 800,000, yeah 126,637.51 USD on a bus and soundsystems that they will only use for a month or so... Crazy people...... (And we are just celebrating that we have finished gymnasium...) BUT enough about that, let's talk Sim City... This update will be about West Chester, and some pictures of some new areas. Didn't want to post pictures from South Maybury City before I'm completley satisfied. SO off to the pictures! Picture 17.1 -I wanted to make the look of the city more authentic so I made some new areas, now the city looks more and more complete, but there will probably be more improvements in later updates... Picture 17.2 -This is how it looked... Picture 17.3 -Then it looked like this... Picture 17.4 -And this is how it looked like in the end. As you can see the way I build my city is quite european, no big surprise since I am european ... (please comment on this) Picture 17.5 http://img216.echo.cx/img216/1346/52hq.jpg align=baseline> -This is a closeup of the hill area from the first picture. Since I placed some areas where Hi-tec industry could grow, I got some nice appartments in the nearby area. Picture 17.6 http://img216.echo.cx/img216/884/70iq.jpg align=baseline> -Just wanted to show a picture of how the downtown area looks like now. What do you think? List of the 4 biggest cities in Maybury: 1. West Chester: 130,172 2. Maybury city: 124,601 3. Croftham: 35,587 4. Triton city: 31,780 Maybury region: 347,162 -Yeah, I know, West Chester has for now more residents than Maybury city. This will change though, cause I am far from finished with Maybury city, and almost finished with West Chester... comments: Sparks1176: Hi, and thank you. Yeah I really do love that building, the arcitechture is unique. Thank you for dropping by, hope you like what you see! SC4 meister: Hi, and welcome back! Always pleasant to hear from you . Hope you liked this update, and it's great to hear that other people like my CJ, and what I post here! Keep coming back! Now that was all for today, hope you liked it. I know it wasn't the biggest update but even though my exams are ALMOST over, I still have lot of work left. So please be patient! Take care!
-
yeah, wondered why I was redirected to microsoft... Well can't wait to test this out!
-
Sloppet: Thank you! Always nice to read your pleasant replies! Keep them coming! Announcement: -Well, I'll be gone for about 4 days, so no update in some time. There is a HUGE party with 10,000 russ (russ= graduation students in Gymnasium), and I'm one of them, heheh. This is going to be wild, and I am not sure if I even have enough money to eat.... hehe Cause much off the money will be spent on, BEEEER!!! Well so I'll post on Monday probably, but I'm not sure if that will be a big or small update, we'll see So, later all! Take care! (I'll try too...) PS! If you want to see what it is, go to www.Landstreff.no (Norwegian!!!)
-
Oh my, my Norwegian cities will look great now! Any interest in making some Norwegian buildings!? Anyway, nice work!
-
cammo2003: Hmm... did you remember to put the files into the install folder of you game, not the documents folder? Example: c:\programfiles\maxis\simcity4\plugins\ If you have you may want to go to this thread for more info or help: Cycledogg's terrain mod thread -Oh, and PS, that link is for page 2, hehe.. just so that you know...
-
Fox: You sure this has anything to do with the mod? Cause I have removed, replaced and done several things with this mod, and nothing except for the terrain and trees has changed with my cities. There is a possibility that you have some other mod interferring with this mod...
-
Peakman2: that is a known sideffect with this mod. It is actually a part of the mod, so all you have to do is to raise the level of the terrain one notch... then you'll see you map! No problemo! Jeronij: There you are! Well I see, mine work well, but they are not white like yours... That is a mod maby? There was a small problem whilst making the beach. I remember that i had to stretch the beach a bit further out and rise the sealevel in front of the beach first. Well keep it up! Later!
-
Now this is nice. I always wanted to see you make some normal res areas (hehe about normal heh, I mean not mallorcish ). And I must say they look fab! Sloppet: There is a mod in the MOD section that takes away the arrows in the oneway streets. This should be the link: no onewayroad arrows -edit: And I think they are a part of the European road mod too... I think...
-
Thank you both! I am quite happy with the region, but there is still much work to do,... So off to work!
