I just whent and bought a new copy and all is good

I cleaned all the files off rebooted the computer and reinstalled it onto my desktop hoping that i could play the game without sound and just add the other missing files but i still got the error and when i hit cancle install it deleted its self. Is there a way to stop the istall without it deleteding all the files it has already installed? Would i be able to just click and drag the remaing files into the install folder?

ok so i have spend prob about 5 or 6 hours over the last few days trying to find somthing on this but no luck. When i am installing the game (SC4D) i get to the end of the install (98%) and it wont install the sound.dat file. Error Loading E:\sound.dat' from the media. How do i get around this? Is there a way to install the game without that file? I did copy all of the files from the disc's to a folder on the desktop and it wouldnt transfer the sound.dat file. I got a "cannot copy sound.dat Invalid ms-dos function. Also sence i have loaded the files to my desktop the cd wont run. It keeps telling me to install the sc4d play cd. My pc is pretty old. My damn cat spilled a cup of water on my custom build one........ so i am using this one to get me by for a few more weeks untill i can buy a new gaming pc. Dell Intel seleron cpu 2.40 ghz Memory LMAO LOL 254mb ram Grafix controler 64mb memory It would be great if someone could help me with this. I have seen a few people with my same problem but never got a reply so it would help me and some others if we can figure this out.
