Sorry about the lack of an update, not only have i been busy but ive had Computer Issues work hasnt been done since late 2008/early 2009 that is the latest city work was done mid 2009 but my hard drive got screwed up, and still needs recovered, so either ill revert to the old version and redo development or try to recover the hard drive the hard drive is just corrupted, just need an $80 program to recover the hard drive, but im broke and havent gotten a job right now, been applying

dweith: you might have a different problem, run in administrator mode, and see if that works vendetta007.mike: of course you dont have a problem, you have 5GB of RAM, Mr. Cortez only has 768MB, which probably isnt even enough for windows 7 alone TownMaster2005: this isnt a thread to talk about your succes with running the game, its to help Mr. Cortez with his problem

ok, to me it sounds like the Cheapest fix would be to go back to Windows XP, you do not have enough RAM to run Windows 7 Properly, but it should run on XP fine (not sure about XP SP3) and your graphics card is fine, its better than my laptops graphics card, and my laptop runs sc4 on windows 7 fine, but with 4GB of RAM if you absolutley HAVE to have windows 7, you are gonna HAVE to buy at least 2GB of RAM, you could also adjust your virtual memory to be 4096 inital and 4096 max, that might help, and when running SC4 maybe run it as administrator, run in compatibility mode for XP SP2, and disable Aero while running. and one thing i should state "you CAN NOT go cheap with computers" it just doesn't work out

if you want to run SimCity 4 go out and buy more RAM, you really should have at least 2GB on your computer to run Windows 7 and SC4, however more is better. judging by your graphics card im going to guess your computer uses DDR2, you can get 2GB DDR2 for around $50 or less. just go out to your local computer store and buy some more RAM. make sure its the right type for your computer, and make sure you have free RAM slots what brand of computer is this?

im rendering in hardware, never had this problem even on lower end computers, and all the graphic detals except one are low, visual effects is medium.

in my opionon removing mass transit for singleplayer was done for a reason... to make people pay to play online, i dont think people realize that they made this game mainly for online play, they want it to make money and likely to be the World of Warcrack of City Sim games. and they depreciate the offline play to make people more likely to use online play.

yes it would be, but making a disc that pays the contributors would have a higher chance of getting more content, idk why people wont put content on a FREE download.

yes we can pay every person, its not very easy and yes it is little money, but money adds up, we could have people contribute, and being payed is an option. say for example you get paid $0.01 per disk and we sell 1000 disks, thats $100, and its very easy. we should contact maxis, they might not reply, but its worth trying.

for question 3 i meant to say . if we CAN'T do any of that, is there any other way to make people more likely to put there content in this? why would they not want to get payed for having there content in the disc, thats easy money. and what isnt payed to content creators would go to making the discs and st.
