The amount of residential demand and commercial demand looks equal and this doesn't fit to the reality.. There should be less commercial demand than residential demand, it is not realistic to have the same amount of residential zones and commercial zones.

4 industrials zones, 4 freights station (one for each), and you obtain this :

The variety of building is really low .. We need more buildings I hope modders will release new building packages fastly because the game just looks weird for the moment with all these identical buildings :s And some industrial stuff is soo "futuristic" like the coil central, it looks weird..
-
It is still not possible to have an industrial zone far away from population, industries don't find workers and get abandoned even if there is a connection to the city with highway/ train / metro etc....... this work distance limitation is one of the most annoying things in every city building game, there is no way to build realistic cities with that limitation.

Civitas, an interesting Citybuilder project
Tramwhet replied to Tramwhet's topic in General Off-Topic
I'd like to know why is simtropolis CENSORING this project ? I saw this project in the NEWS, and i tried to comment, comments were disabled, and the news disappeared one hour later. I tried to post it again and it was not accepted. Is simtropolis bought by EA ? Look at the banner and the advertising everywhere of simcity, this is really sad. sorry for my english -
Simcity reviews are in: the embargo is lifted!
Tramwhet replied to Xenocity's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
This is why they hate the game: Towns too small A system of roads ultra painful (they hate the road system) Unable to select the direction of a building Too frequent disasters AI sometimes calamitous Many inconsistencies Lack of explanation for the uninitiated Often cities again, this is not great (this I do't understand) No metro (Subway) Yeah they don't like the game because it is too American. Where do you come to the conclusion that any of that is American only stuff? They typically complain and give lower reviews to American games. They aren't counted in either Metacritic or Gamerankings do to their bias. You are totally wrong, all Call Of duties get between 17 and 20 on this site, and its an american game. Simcity 4 get an 18/20. + they gived 2 awards for Simcity 2013 in E3 "often cities again, this is not great (this I do't understand)" they said that they have to build again cities all the time because of the little maps. -

i agree with you, Glassbox engine has nothing to do with the old statistical engine. Its a completely new beginning, a start from 0. Simcity 4 was 4th game made on the same engine, so it was pretty advanced in some aspects. -
I am not trolling, just giving a serious advice. If the game was named SimTown and without skycrapers the game would be much more coherent and realistic. It would be a nice realistic game and nice beginning for present us their new Glassbox engine. And as time past, the day that the engine will be enough strenght to support side by side cities, that day, they would make SimCity 5. Well, i know that they will never do that, but i hope that in the future they will made a Simcity 2014 with side by side cities.

it starts in one minute http://www.origin.com/maxis-live its look like they are censoring comments, only positive comments are sent in the chatbox ... this is ridiculous
-
I agree with DmainEvent. Maybe it is too late for this Simcity, but think about it for Simcity 2. If EA restricts the game and/or blackmail you for some changes in the game, tell us, left EA, and lets build the game independantly and with the help of the community. Money ? Just go on kickstarter and describe your project, you will get millions of dollars ( + make the game offline, you will economise a lot of money, we don't care about online gaming)

hey nice game it would be better if someone adds textures on it

Speculation & Discussion
Tramwhet replied to waybig's topic in SimCity (2013) Modding - Open Discussion
so we can replace all textures by HD textures of real life and get amazing graphics, no ? sorry for my english -
just look at this: it is the 3th time i test this mod and it always happen the same thing... there are so many commercial and industrials (NOBODY WORK in industrial but they grow 0o ) But no residentials ... The residential demands are HIGH (as well as commercial and industry) but they don't grow, it is blocked at 29 000 as you see. the education is all in green, with university etc ..

http://www.simcity.com/en_US/blog/article/water-water-everywhere "From SimCity 2000 on, the player had to lay all of the pipes independently from other networks, repeating the same pattern over and over again in every city. In this SimCity, much like in real life, the water pipes are placed underneath your streets and roads, so you can focus on the management of the system at a higher level." what do you think about this ?

I really hope we will be able to taxe differently every different zoned area, like simply right clicking on the zone area and manage taxes. because: example in simcity 4 : I want only CO$$$ skyscrapers on the middle of the city, so i zone high density commercial on the middle. But CO$$ and CS demands are very high too, so i zone more commercial zone around. But know, i can't get skyscrapers on the middle because the CO$$$'s are going to extend on the large zoned commercial areas, and it will no more require skyscrapers. with the different zone taxing we will be able to manage all this. (sorry for my english)

I hope there will be regional time and not every city different. Because it's quiet weird to have a city year 300 and your neighbour year 10.
