  1. Comment replying time, woo! Alakazam nice to see that u r checking up on my CJ, i am well prud of that last pic, its just amazing, and all that came out of my own head, wierd that, and i just made up the whole thing, it basically just fell into place. Frogface The BAT's sure do make a big improvement, they are just soo amazing, i like the naval base there, i put it in when the bridge was there, must be a fault or sommin, but i'm not complaining. just to let u all know, i will be putting in Dusktroopers updated bluerise plaza thing in so let there be light in that thar building. seeyas. next update will be tomorrow, and if i get enough comments i will make it extra special.
  2. UPDATE PART 2! This is the second part of my two part update series, in this part we will be focusing on Mawell-Multinational. This is a two part update because it is all to do with Rickennington's newest addition to its residential sector on the border, just outside Maxwell. this new residential addon will need jobs for its sims to get to work, not only does it have the commercial centre of Rickennington, but it will also have a connection to Maxwell's newest addition to one of its commercial districts, and all this is made possible from reclaimed land from the sea. Before construction began on building the new commercial expansion. It took about 2 years later and the land needed had been reclaimed from the sea, and in order to have the highway needed to move the sims between the two cities part of the original commercial district had to be demolished to make way to larger and better things. Anything in the red box was destroyed. But before this could happen, the southbound highway needed to be constructed in order to pinpoint where the northbound highway needed to be built. The shoreline will be very similar to that of Rickennington. it wasnt long before the foundations for the new commercial district expansion were in place with all the transportation options, it also includes a well pretected bay with large army ships. Once the zones were set, construction soon began. Here is a close up of Mawell's naval base. Pretty cool huh. Here are two sets of pics, of the completed expansion in all its glory, i present to you............Maxwell-Multinationals southern commercial district expansion on reclaimed land from the sea. Maxwell-Multinationals southern commercial district expansion on reclaimed land from the sea. Night view Absolutely stunning isnt it, so beautiful at night dont you think, man i would love to live in this city, wouldnt you? Here is a close up view. Closeup view Thats all for this update for today, i hope you enjoy it, i sure have, building this just makes me think how much can come out of absolutely nothing! I would like to thank all the BAT designers for all their hard work that has been put into bringing us these totally amazing buildings, they are awsome, and hope that you continue to make them for months to come. this has been a smirkazor CJ update. comments are welcome and will be gratefull, any questions or queries that you might have aboot anything that i have show and done throughout my CJ dont hesitate to ask via comments, goodnight.
  3. Frogface MetroCityStation Elevated

This sure is going to be a great addition to my cities, it looks really nice and suits a large city with skyscrapers, well done.
  4. UPDATE PART 1! Hello and welcome to another update in my evergrowing region of River Basin. In this update i will be showing you what i have planned and already completed for the other half of the reclaimed land for my new Residential district. here is what i plan to do with the half. I will have to make a key for this. RED: Anything in these areas will be demolished. GREEN: These will be where the new stretch of highways will be placed. BROWN: These areas will be lowered to its almost maximum depth before hitting water. YELLOW: This will be where the new under ground highway will be built. Plans for extending transportation Plans for further continuation of extending transportation YELLOW=highway tunnel DBLUE=new raised rail lines RED X=el train/subway This pic is just to show that th tunnel with be built succesfully, in order for me to have actually built the tunnel i had to build the ground level highway for the tunnel. Now that all this had been planned out soon the construction was complete and it now looks like this. Finnished Transportation for New Residential Sector This update is going to be the first part of two, the second update will follow shortly, be patient. Comments are welcome and will be gratefull, if you have anywuestions or queries about anything that i have shown, dont hesitate to ask via comment, and i will reply to them asasp. Thank you. This has been a smirkazor CJ update.
  5. wow, lots of comments already, but lol at jolan for his double post, dont worry jolan i have done it a few times, all i did was edit the last one and make it another proper comment, and i will pm u later on that thing u wanted about that thingy to do with you thing, ok. ALAKAZAM thnx , that was just a sneak peak of the finnished commercial centre skyline, i am just awaiting more skyscrapers made by those wonderfull and brilliant BAT makers to be uploaded onto the BEX. EXGAMER07 first, thnx for ur comment on my CJ, i am gratefull, and for you question that you have asked moi, i am happy to awnser it. the reason for the high demand caps at the beginning of Rickennington was because of the influence of Maxwell-Multinational, this city is basically my capital and is, i'd say almost 75% skyscrapers, somewhere around that, and its kinda like a wave effect, over a certain distance from its borders it can influence the demand caps, therefore my high demand caps as seen in the region view Rickennington is Right next to it. Once again, thnx for all you comments, and i hope u will keep on checking my CJ almost everyday, as now i have basically finnished my exams and got 12 weeks holiday, wahey, but sadly im working on some days, like saturday, monday, wednesday and friday. i might not be able to then. Now i am going to finnish my latest update above, as it is only aboot half done.
  6. Hey everyone, im back with another update for you, but first thing first, comments, thnx for all those who have been so nice to comment on my cj. Jolan: well Jolan, thnx for commenting, and its ur first one, well 2 on simtropolis, im so pleased that u chose my cj to comment on first, as for you question, that lot was made by a person named pegasus, he is now not with us, along with all his creations off of the lex etc, so it is no longer available to download, that is until he has completed his own website with his own exchange, so u will need to wait a while before u can get it. Masher: hey masher, ur first comment on my CJ, better late than never, lol . im glad that you like my cat in a nice but little humerous way, as for his name, its a he, is called, lol, wait for it.............................Baby.. I'm glad that you like my monorail system, it took longer than the rest i'd say, but luckily for you i have a seperate addon onto this system, if that makes any sense to you at all, strangely wired isnt it, or was it wierdly strange, nevermind. and as for the monorail stations, they are the only style that i can find (and like) with all the trimmings, bus station/subway station/monorail station (of course).Sims, confused, of course they are, they dont even know what a highway is as they dont seem to notice it is quicker, so why would they know what stations which. Now for the update, this update will be focusing on the new extension of the split downtown of Rickenningtons large residential district, and Maxwell-Multinationals commercial sector, which is adding to the residential. in the last update i began to show you the reclamation of land from the sea, using the left overs of cutting off the top of the hill to make way for the expansion of the industrial district. This first pic for today will show you how much land wll be reclaimed from the sea. Land recliamed from the sea As you can see, this will be similar to the commercial centre of Rickennington's shore line, this is because, the main transport mode is by boat, so lots of docks will be needed to quel the amount of people that will be using them, if they can figure out that this is the best mode of transport available to them, apart from the new monorail line. Next is what the shore line of this new area will look like. Shore line of new residential area Quite nice, now its time for the monorail line, these next two pics will show what i will be doing and what it looks like. and u can get a sneak peak to my almost finnished commercial centre. (hehe) looks kool Before and method of new monorail line After: finnished product This great new edition to my monorail network (which will not be directly connected) will be one of the main and shortest ways to commute to the comercial centre of Rickennington, the other two modes of transport are by highway(if the sims find out that it is one of the quickest routes, and the main transportation mode will be ferry, or boat taxi. As i was looking at my first picture that i posted, i thought that i might try something different with the highway, so i came up with an idea that the highway would kinda be like a ring road and go around the outside of the agreed site for the residential area, and with the completed monorail line looks something like this. Completed Transportation Network of New Residential Area (partly) Looks pretty nice if i dont say so myself, it really does make it look that much different putting the highway round the outside, and what i think looks even better is the circled monorail line that connects back up to itself. If you are wondering what happening to the other half of this new reclaimed land, i have something else planned for it, and the only information that i am going to give you is that it will be involving Maxwell-Multinational. Thats all for this update, the next update will include what i have instore for that other half, thank you. Comments are welcome and will be gratefull, if you have any questions about what i have done, or you have any queries of things you dont understand etc, dont hesitate to ask via comment, anywuestions will be dealt with the utmost important. i am now finnished with this update feel free to now comment etc.
  7. Hey all, this is just a short update showing the beginnings of a reclemation of land for a new mass residential area, here are a few pics shwoing the beginnings of it. The start of the reclemation of land. and the construction of an extension to the mass transits highway system linking this new residential district to the rest of the network, although the aimed main transport option will be boat. Thats all for today, but look forward to some much better updates in the next week or two as i am a bit busy with my GCSE exams, stay tuned. comments are welcome and will be accepted with the utmost gratitude, and any wuestions that you have or any queries or would like to know what plans i have for this city, dont hesitate to ask, i would also like to briefly thank the people who made the latest comments, its nice to know that u are enjoying my creations, thank you.
  8. NAM General Discussion Thread

WOAH! now that is what i call some brilliant interchange thingys u have shown there, i would love to see more of those kinda ones in simcity4 or even in 5 aerojad. smirkazor
  9. Its your lucky day to day simtropians as i have the time and patience to do another update for u lucky lucky people. K_M_H, nice to see you r keeping up with my CJ, back to the update, this update is going to be focussing on the little bit of industry that Rickennington has to offer. just to remind you here is 2 pics of what it looked like. This size of industry for the size of Rickennington is just unaceptable, so plans have been announced to day that a dramatic relandscaping of the area was in order to expand the tiny industrial district, the plans stated that the area that was now the industrial district was to be expanded 3 times its size. Soon the bulldozers came in and begun to clear the trees away and take off the top of the hill to help fill up the reclaimed land from the harbour. thats all for this update, tune in next time (tomorrow) to find out if the expansion of the Rickennington Industrial district turns out higher than peoples expectations. seeyas l8er. smirkazor. comments are welcome and will be met with absolute gratitude, and any questions that you might have dont hesitate to ask me via comments.
  10. That damn evil cat, anywho, time for another update, in this update i will continue to show the developing expansions i had shown in my previous update and some more. first of all, the:- Developing Expansion 1 (pic to come shortly) Developing Expansion 2 Developing Expansion 3 Looks quite pleasant, a definate change to my concrete jungles in my first region Lexasland, u can find its CJ somewhere on these forums. Now for the latest exoansions, of both residential and commercial sectors, first being the commercial sector, this expansion is basically expanding around the residential sector for easy to reach jobs. And finally the exoansion on the residential sector. This will be all for the moment, next find out what these expansion look like after the development starts, until next time, seeyas l8er. smirkazor comments are welcome and will be accepted with the upmost gratitude, anyquestions or queries that you have about anything that i have done dont hesitate to ask via comments. thank you.
  11. WARNING, WARNING. EVIL CAT ALERT, NOOOOOOOOOO! (this is a test picture for me to start hosting off site to save on bandwidth, so i thought i might as well post it on my CJ and have a little fun with it using a funny but EVIL pic of my cat) http://img14.imageshack.us/img14/1016/evilbaby.jpg width=800 border=0> smirkazor (hehe)
  12. Villarule: in some parts, such as the monorail that comes from my new residential district which goes underneath my mound is at almost usage-4000 sims. Cobb: Ha planning, yeah right. i take no real planing, when i first started this city i didnt know what i was going to do, so i just did what came naturally, done what i felt like which always turns out excellent funnily enough, as you can see from any of my cities. I do have some planning, but not alot. And for the time, it really depends on wether i can or want to. Now for a small update, this update will just be showing two new expansions onto the growing CBD, to compensate for the growing demand for jobs from the new and ever more growing residential sector, as seen in these following pics. Expansion 1 Expansion 2 This is companied by an expansion of the residential area. Again it is a combination of both high and medium density res. Expansion 3 as i said, its a small update. Thats all for today, but stay tuned, more things to come, great things. . smirkazor comments are welcome and will be replied if any questions are included, for sure. p.s. anyone gona take up my challenge to create a large light beam, like those on the 20th century sighn thing at the beginning of their movies.
  13. Hello everybody, and welcome to my CJ again, today i will be continuing on showing u the finished industrial sector, but first i would like to thank everybody who has commented on my CJ so far, and hope u will keep looking for further updates, which there shall be almost everyday. Villarule-thanks for your comment, stating the obvious (can you feel the egoism). I do not need to find anytime to play simcity4/rushhour, cos i play it whenever i feel like it and able to play it, and i sure as hell will keep up the excellent work. Anyways, time for todays update, here you will see the completed (well, nearly completed) industrial sector, it comes in two parts as its tooooo long to fit into one pic. but i have one little problem, the rail isnt being used, instead all the products that are produced in this industrial area is being moved via road, which i do not want all of it to do, do you need a large amount of industry to make them use rail? Here is a little extra for todays update, it is the new residential district being built just north west of the commercial centre of Rickennington. Here is a pic of the zones that have been chosen for this development. As you may see, the zones will be a mixed of high and medium density residential, so it will be a range of tower block with apartment buildings as sen below. One of the main transport is the monorail that weaves through the new district, in the future to come this will be a vital part to the cities growth as it provides cheap, easy and fast travel through the main parts of the city. That will be all for this update, next update will be tomorrow evening, so stay tuned, and keep those comments comming in, i am very intreeged to find out what you think of the stuff i have done, and anyquestions that you have dont hesitate to ask as i will awnser them as quick as humainly possible. seeyas. smirkazor. p.s. for all those BAT squad members i have a small challenge for you, it is to make a high powered beam light thing that has a fixed point shinning directly diagonally, so they can go round my mound thing with all my tunnels and light it up making it a sight to see please, any one who would like to make this please message me.
  14. HEY great to see you again mscharamut, where have you been lately? glad to see that you are still alive and able to come see my CJ. Nows the time for a small update on Rickennington, the first ever industrial development has begun in Rickennington and here are a few pics to show you what it looks like. The new industrial district is located high up in the boarder hills in River Basin with its main transport link as rail connected to the ports in the harbour. These first few pictures only show the layout of the new industrial estate, you could say its very streamline, in shape and technology, as its only power source is from wind generators, very clean but not too reliable. Thats all the pictures for now, more to come later on this evening, so stay tuned, smirkazor out. smirkazor comments are v welcome and any questions will be replied to with the utmost confidence.
  15. sorry posted same update twice. comments on any of my stuff is welcome, any question that you have dont hesitate to ask.
  16. I finally got the stuff i needed to creat my large habour around that out cropping land, it sure has made it look alot more desirable, and im sure the sims or Rickennington and the people of the neibouring city, Maxwell-Multinational will very much enjoy the facilities that will be on offer, including fun fairs, jet skies, tours of the industrial docks and many others including an amazing view of Rickenningtons over towering CBD highrises that are soon to be built there. So without further buttering up, i presnt to you River Basins internatinal Port. Here are some closeer pictures of the port, the north, east and south sections And now, the last and best picture i have saved for last, this picture, once all my commercial highrises are built will look absolutely stunning, but for now its just low rise, but still looks very pretty. This will be the last time that you will see this part of Rickennington, as i will not show you it again until it is completely finnished to what i see is my desired outcome, next will be the growth of residential near the centre. smirkazor comments are welcome
  17. Time for another update on Rickennington, Rickennington has now reached over 200k sims, to keep up with the ever growing Rickennington, further development on Maxwell-Multinationals most south western commercial district as jobs have become scarce in Rickennington. here is a pic of what the commercial sector looks like now, in the night view, and i would like to send out a special thanks to all the people who produced these wonderfull BAT buildings that are shown in this CJ, naming a select few, Cobb, Dusktrooper and frogface. now that more jobs are created, those unhappy unemployed sims can now get back to work and earn some dosh. and here are a few pics of what Rickennington looks like now. here is a pic of some med res. Now here is a picture of the CBD, which isnt that large atm. DAY NIGHT That tall building on the right has to be one of my favourites, it just looks so beautiful with the light effects. Thats all for the time being, keep those comments comming in, i would really like to know what you think of my region, and know whos a fan and not. smirkazor
  18. Ok everyone, welcome to another fabulous River Basin update, this update we are looking at the beginning's of Rickennington, so far all i have zoned is dense res, as seen below. I would like to send out a special thanks to cobb, for this wonderful masterpiece of his, and is the first, and highest to be built in Rickennington, as seen below. Everything is building so quickly. Here are 4 pics showing some day/night views. DAY NIGHT DAY https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files/Rick%2027.jpg> NIGHT And now to counter the growing unemployment the construction of a commercial district was needed. Not much description today, but pictures are worth a thousand words as they say, anyway i hope you have enjoyed this update, if you have any questions about anything that i have done dont hesitate to ask me via comments, plus comments about what i have done in this update are very welcome. seeya. smirkazor
  19. Well this is going to be the last update focusing on the ground transport layout for this city, as the next will probably be subways . righty then, i got some more tunnels for you in this update, plus an overview of the whole city as it stands now. first thing first, the new tunnels. these first tunnels are monorail tunnels, and are highlighted as seen below. These next few pictures are showing som aspects of my transport layout. Another small monorail tunnel passing beneath another raised highway. And overview of part of my city with its transport. A view of the whole city. and finally a traffic map to clearly show everything. Well, thats all for today, more to come tomorrow, the first foundations will be finally set, and construction will begin. This has been a smirkazor update, thank you for viewing, comments are very welcome, and any questions regarding my city journal will be met with a reply as soon as i am able to reply to it. smirkazor
  20. What, a finnishing time for when i complete my transport layout? I would have to say, possibly by sunday, or sometime in the middle of next week. (as i am back doing exams and revising) It mostly depends how much time i have to play simcity4 and how i feel. I have had some time this late morning to early afternoon to do a bit more. Today i have been working on a quite ambitious project of mine (guess what, more tunnels ), it involves building two monorail lines underneath a raised Highway, as it would have looked quite odd if i have put in ground level highway in the places in which they would cross, so here is a picture that i have marked out for you to show what i am planning to do. (and already have done as you can guess) I will need to a bit of explaining. Everything in the black box will be destroyed. The Green squares will be lowered to the perfect level for the tunnels to be constructed. The Red lines are the monorail tracks. The Yellow lines are where the monorail tunnels will be placed. The Blue lines are the monorail stations. The Brown boxes indicate where the ground will be raised. The dark Blue will be where the avenue tunnels will be. Finally the Purple lines is where the highway tunnel will be. I hope this will all make sense. Righty then, To start off i need to sort out the lowered ground in those green boxes so the tunnels for the monorail lines can be built, like so (pic below) and heres one that i made earlier In this next pic it shows some of the avenue tunnels that will be constructed. The next picture will show the avenue that goes straight up the middle of the hill and the 2 monorail tunnels either side. Once all the tunnels were built, (including the highway which i did not inclide in the pictures) the stations and roads that connected them were put in place, and a mass forrest was grown ontop and around the new addition to my transportation layout. As seen below. Also, something else that was discusted in the meeting about this new project was some kind of water feature. (as seen below) I hope that you have enjoyed this update, and if you are wondering how i got all those highlights of where the tunnels are going to go in almost one picture, is that i use paint to cut section by section, and paste onto the picture that you see before you above. Anyway, thats all for today, if your lucky enough that i feel like it i will post another update later tonight, comments are very welcome and will be apreciated (by me) and any questions that you have about anything that i have done, dont hesitate to ask me as i will be more than happy to awnser them, thanks for your time, until next time, seeya. smirkazor.
  21. The reason i can spend hours at a time playing simcity4 is because i am so involved in what i am doing, and i strive for perfection. Also, as you can see i am just concentrating on transportation, as i am trying to get a really great transport layout that works best, so wish me luck. The building will begin soon. smirkazor keep the comments comming, i am very interested in what you have to say.
  22. Time for another update, continuing in showing you the transportation layout of my latest city Rickennington, here are a few small projects that i have done it this city involving tunnels. This series of pics shows a tunnel i built going underneath a ground level highway, you can see in this first pic how far down i have dug on each side to build it. The second pic shows that the tunnel will work. lastly the completed avenue tunnel. https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files/Rick%2021.jpg> This next series of pics is showing how i made a raised highway tunnel. As you can see in the first pic, to make it perfectly level, i make sure that both sides are at the same level. Then make sure the sides of the hill i am building through has its sides at a proper gradient. https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files/Rick%2032.jpg> Second, showing that the tunnel will build. And lastly the finnished product. My last series of picture displays my last tunnel project of this update, it is of another avenue tunnel. The red marking shows where the tunnel entrance is located. The next 2 pics show where the entrance and exits will be, first being the entrance and secondly the exit. Next shows that the tunnel will work. And finally the completed project. Thats all for this update, this final picture is showing an overview of what i have done, enjoy. smirkazor. Comments are welcome, if you have any queries please let me know about anything.
  23. Well i am back and ready to roll, i do not have much time to make this update ver interesting so i will post the pictures now with only a brief description. this picsture shows one of the many train stations that will be around this city. https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files/Rick14.jpg> here is another one of the many trainstations https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files/Rick%201.jpg> This picture below is where another rail tunnel will be built. https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files/Rick%202.jpg> And this picture shows how big the tunnel is, the red is the exit and entrance to the tunnel, it will be a two way as indicated in yellow. https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files/Rick%2031.jpg> The picture shown below is one of many tunnels that will be built in Rickennington in a scheme to reduce traffic. https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files/Rick%204.jpg> and here is an over view of part of my transportation network, notice the rail tunnels. https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files/Rick%205.jpg> And now the other side. https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files/Rick%206.jpg> and last but ont least, the middle part zoomed out a bit at a different angle. Thats all for now, more to come soon, i hope that you have enjoyed looking at these pictures on my transportation layout, i would like to hear your verdict on my transportation layout, please comment. smirkazor
