well, what a good turnout i see in the way of comments. Brett_131: no i havent said anything about what kind of zones im doing, so i will do it now. first of all to start with i will be using medium density throughout in the central part of my region (what im doing now) and eventually turn some of it to dense, which is what i have done with baskingville, which is what i am comming onto now. over the time from my last major update, i have been working to find out how i can make my highways be used alot, as it has come to my attention that the sims only take the roads, so i have seperated the 4 sections that is devided up by the raised highway, so the only choices they have is to use my highways or the raised rail. so here is a pic of what i have done upto this moment of me writing this update. it looks quite nice but far from over. anyway, thats all for now, and as there has been a great turnout in comments i will give u a sneak peak at the next city i am doing, the name of this city is 'Yamamoto' a name that i just totally made up from nothing, i felt like there had to be a bit of chineese/japanese in my region, so here it is. i have a very good feeling about this city, its just got something about it, i have decided that this layout of highway above would be the best as it make use of all of it https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/images/smilies/9.gif> which is always a good thing. smirkazor comments are welcome and should be compulsory. -

thats right simguyuk, it was my goal for high population, the only way to get what i got is large amounts of skyscrapers, this time im gonna keep skyscrapers to a minimum, and make it more realistic. smirkazor -

its not too difficult, first of all u get the ground level highway, layout a strip, after that u drag the road over it, but u need to make it a longer road or the bridge wont appear. and for the trees, they are a lot on the lex, i think by pegases, hope that helps. smirkazor. p.s. jb u were right, it has done this on the highways onland, all the cars only use the roads, it is really silly, it would be quicker to use the highways, they are pretty stupid sims. -

Here i am again, ready to show you Baskingville my second city on my region, at the moment i have not begun actual construction and i have just done the basic transport layout, first of all i done something similar with the overpasses in lexampleton, this time diagonally (not the tunnels) as seen below. https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files/Baskingville.jpg border=0> again i will use a combination of the two sorts of highways, as seen below. i am making a sort of ringroad with the ground level highway with the raised crossing he middle, looks pretty decent, anyway here is a pic of a bit more of the highway. these next 3 pics show the almost completed layout, enjoy. and finally a closer pic of the water feature https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/images/smilies/9.gif>. well thats all for now, i havent done anything more than what u can see in the last 3 pics, im trying to finnish coursework so next week i can have more time, so there will be more to see and more updates. lol smirkazor comments are welcome and should be compulsory. -

thnx simguyuk, its good to be back, although i didnt go for that long lol, thnx for the comment Llama_sim, i will add them as much as i can, i really like them, anyway, now hopefully i can finnish my update, so here we go. this update will still be on lexampleton, the next hopefully will be on my next city. to begin with i will show you something new that i am doing, i am introducing more tunnels into this region, to start thing off i will use them with this highway overpass next the tunnels go in. i thne added the instant forrest lots to make it look nice. here is an overview, the over pass on the left was what the pictures are showing above. This next picture shows another tunnel project that i did, what i basically planned to do was make it like a small park with fountains etc. and this is what it looked like when i finnished. moving onto the opposite side of the highway system (near the hills) i used a combination of the raised and ground level highways. here is the final pic of today, this just shows the overall view of my highway project. thats all for today then, in my next post i will be showing you what i am currently doing on my next city, what i have now shown you on lexampleton is all i have done upto now. smirkazor p.s. the name of my second city is 'Baskingville' -

River Basin: The region where anything could happen

Well then, phew, lots of comments now, right to start off things the bit about the erosion thingy, i said before that it was just a basic region that i did quickly to show everyone what it basicly looks like ok, i will be using the erode tool later but i just wanted to get stated on building. now for the bit about the over passes, this is my region and i can build it the way i like, it has no relevance to any real life city, im just trying to mkae it look different and a little bit nicer. the highway is for a later purpose, as i have done before i do a highway layout for the backbone for my cities, when the city starts to get bigger i will build across the river making the highway come into use, at the moment it is in use, about 5 cars to get to their jobs at the incinerator, and with the two other bridges it will be to releive the traffic when the city expands alot more. those pics are old, i had done alot more when i posted those pics. smirkazor -

Alrighty then, time for the next regionl update, today i will be showing you my first settlement in River Basin, just to keep a little bit of Lexasland in my region, and as having it named after my first city in the region it makes it special, i have called it lexampleton, and here is the first pic, it is showing just the basic road layout. This next pic just shows the zoning experiencing technicle difficulties, finnish updat later. smirkazor -

hey everyone, i am really pleased that my new cj is already on a roll with comments https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/images/smilies/1.gif>. now to awnser ur questions. Simmax, Otakunow: what i have shown you is just a preview of the region before i finnish it, i still have a few quirks with the landscape to sort out, this was just a quick one to preview it quickly, i will take ur advice on using the erode tool etc. Dolfan: i wont be putting this region on the MEX because i dont wnat anyone else but me to use this region, but after this or maybe soon i will do some little projects on the side of creating regions for the MEX. and thanks for all the great comments guys, stay tuned, next i will show you the first settlement in the region. smirkazor. -
