  1. High Res SimCity Gallery

Everyone needs to remember that this game needs to run on as many different configurations as possible. Not everyone has the latest and greatest machine in the world to run photorealistic graphics at highest quality without the processor taking a hit. Especially if your city gets sufficiently populated. I do seem to remember when SimCity 4, first came out how everyone was complaining about how much of a memory hog it was. Just because your 10 years newer machine runs it like a dream doesn't mean a thing. Keep this in mind, everything is being simulated, each individual sim, each car, each building, the power grid, the water grid, garbage, traffic, weather, resources, economy. All in a vastly different way than SC4, CXL or any other city builder before it. I keep reading these ridiculous ideas about what must be included otherwise it is a "no sale for me". Maxis/EA doesn't care about you as an individual, they might care about you as a gamer in their target demographic. Half the things people want are impossible in the next 8/9 months. And are ridiculous to expect to be included in SimCity, a big picture simulator. Cities in Motions transportation options were top notch because CIM was a transportation simulator not a city builder. If you must have all those demands included into the game, go code them yourself and get them to all work flawlessly together then balance them for satisfying gameplay and to work on any minimum requirement system in the world. In the next 8/9 months. Thank you. Yes, Maxis/EA needs to get certain things right but they do not have to give you everything and the kitchen sink to make a great game. I was surprised that the graphics were not CXL-esque but honestly I don't have any problem with what I am seeing and I am 38 so please somebody call me childish or immature. I have heard people say why show us anything if these are not final graphics, have you heard of building anticipation? Or have you ever been in the boat of having a game you are interested in be announced and they don't hear or see any thing about it for months sometimes years (SpecOps: The Line, anyone?). Did you complain then? Seems that you want your cake and eat it too regardless of the circumstances. That is called entitlement. Maxis/EA is finally after 10 long years releasing a new SimCity game and it basically appears to do most if not all of the things fans have wanted for years and promises the same moddability of SC4. Now I will be the first to admit I am not a hardcore builder but I love this franchise and will play just about anything that isn't utter and complete garbage which from what I have seen SimCity2013 is far from that. February is my birthday month so Happy Birthday to me in 2013. That's is my two cents, you all can spend yours however you feel fit.
  2. No more pipelines ?

Where have you heard/seen this? I hope to hell it's not true. I heard it on the simcity live chat interview on the second day of E3. The guy from Maxis said something to the effect that what you place in the area affects the density. http://www.origin.com/simcity-chat The question comes at the 6:00 mark
