  1. Hello: Seems now when I put in my SimCity Rush Hour disc...I cannot start the game...yet my computer recognises that the disc is there but will not load.

  2. Lost Most Regions

OK....found my plugins and regions: they are in My Documents...however on startup, they do not seem to be included....just the original ones from the game itself. So wondering what I have done wrong: Should I use the original startup button...as I am using the SimCity 4 launcher. Sorry if I am being vague, however this issue hasn't come up before. However I am happy that I have found all of the plugins and regions!
  3. Tried to stop multi CTD's and used a tip from another site...but when I was in to SimCity 4 Deluxe-my main game-None of my Regions were there only the default ones. So after many years of playing I lost most of my regions and it also looks like most of my plugins! BEJA
  4. Hi Everyone..... Just thought I would throw this out to everybody: What seems to be the best overall computer configuration to reach the ultimate performance level for SimCity? BEJA
  5. Too Many crashes to handle.

...Thanks for the reminder ANM!!....I forgot that there is quite a demand on the CPU when running SimCity, and lately I have been running apps behind my gaming! That is most likely why I have seen some spikes in the CTD frequency! Next time I'm in the game, I'll not run anything in the background and see how that helps... Bruce
  6. Too Many crashes to handle.

Thanks!!...I can do that, if I re-install, I'll just move my regions and plugins to D drive, and then back again. Another thought, due to the fact that I'm using several mods, do those need to be re-installed or just by being in my plugins folder, will they interface fine? Bruce
  7. Too Many crashes to handle.

Thanks, 'A Nonny Moose'.....yes, everything for SimCity is at application controlled, as well as other tips that you have given over the years........Now, this may be a silly question: Would it help if I re-installed the game? Or would that be just a waste of time? Bruce
  8. Too Many crashes to handle.

Hi all...so, I have added to the command line the CPU Count 1 line, and it work fairly well...I was able to do some reconstruction in a city and saved twice before the game crashed, which is an improvement! It crashed on the third save attempt.... Cheers:
  9. Too Many crashes to handle.

Thanks for the response....I manually set the Affinity to the zero core, and nothing in my plugins would be causing anything as I have not downloaded anything recently. I'm thinking that it may be my graphics card, as I know the Nvidia protocols are touchy when it comes to Simcity....having said that, I'm not sure which driver works the best....I recently reverted to an older driver, but that was after the random crashes began. Bruce

Lately I have to attempt loading up the game three times before it holds, and then once inside the city and playing, it usually lasts only for one save and then crashes...also I do set the Affinity to the '0' core As always...thanks for any help; Bruce
  12. City Crashes-Only One

Yes, I'm thinking the same thing...a bad save, and I do have a back-up, only it is not as developed, however it will give me a chance to employ some re-designs! So all is good! Thanks ever so much for the help and discussion...and as always, through this process I've learned more about the game and the great people that are SimTropolis! Bruce
  13. City Crashes-Only One

Thanks N_O_Body, yes I have several "money lots", but not employed in this particular city....I did not realise that one could overflow the budget counter. I have the Coastal Casino operating in another city in the Region...Easton Bay, so I'll keep a close eye on that one! Bruce
  14. City Crashes-Only One

Hello again, everyone....I have been thinking, and yes I know that is a dangerous thing! However, I am not convinved that my problem with Pacifica is a plugin issue...due to the nature of that last save. Just to refresh, I saved the game while I was in pause mode, after completing my building. As soon as the game finished saving I took it out of pause, which behaved naturally, but then all of sudden my Budget figure went from 400,000 odd to nothing, not zeroes, but blank with the exception of a hyphen and then crashed...so possibly I corrupted the actual city in the process of the last save?
