  3. NucladiansCrashLand_AHarshPlanet_AHarshBeginning

    Great update Frndofyaweh! I like the custom use you make of the textures, very original! Also, that weird, unbuildable terrain is fantastic; I first thought they were buildings... Great work, I'm longing for more!

  9. :: dynasty :: A Shadow Assassin CJ

    Date: 7/22/2005 9:26:18 AM Author: mrbisonm Looking darn good sofar. I especially love that wall. As a matter of fact I love it so much that I need to know where you got that wallset from, straight and diagonal pieces. I also like the way you have arranged the farmzones, this is new to me and I hope you don't mind if I will use it in my CJ, because they look good. Keep on showing us your city! Mrbisonm: you can find it here: https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/index.cfm?mode=files&filetype=all&category=default&sortby=DatePosted&show=12&Str=castle%20set You need to download the castleramparts prop collection from www.SimCity.com I don't know where the diagonals come from, but there are some other wallsets available. Just type 'castle' or 'castle wall' in the search engine. Incredible updates, Shadow! I really love the way you are planning the castle area, with parks, residential sections, pathways and so on. Looking forward to the big one!
  10. Spear of Zeus: A City in Circles

    Wow! This is quite an original approach! And it looks stunning, a bit like massive crop circles... Well done!
  11. Euphora: A Mikeaut1 City Journal

    Geez, I'm really sorry to hear Euphora has ended that abruptly... I wish you all the luck in the world with your new one; I now have the chance to follow it all the way from the start! I also think this is the right place to thank YOU here; not only am I very happy you mentioned me above, but also I want you to know that I feel that some kind of friendship has been established between several journalers; I was always inspired by the work you'd done; the latest tutorial is one of the best examples of that; and from your posts I learn that I've inspired you as well. That's important, because this is how we keep the community alive and kicking! I know exactly what you mean by getting bored with the current region.. the same occurred to me when my previous cj reached 15 pages or so; it's ok to make a fresh start, I'm sure many good things will come from that! It's been a great pleasure being around here in Euphora!!
  12. Impressive update!! That island is wonderful, the trees look beautiful (never seen so much trees on a single piece of land...) The planet pictures are excellent, as usual. Curious for more!
  13. Sculpting Columbia River

    Incredible update Jeronij! Love the TV-tower area, and the overall detail in your buildingstyle; it's just great!
  14. The Colonization of Hermoso

    Wow!.... just... wow! good story, incredible photography! It's truly outstanding! When I look at this, I feel like a poor amateur I really wonder, how do you create this mirroring in the water? Your pictures look just like little paintings! Keep it up, I can't wait for more!
  15. Wow, Mickebear; you've got an impressive journal going on here! I love the ancient buildings, the cathedrals, Porkissimo's Paris buildings, and I wonder where this Gare Central comes from. I don't recognize this BAT. You're doing a great job, and this is a journal I'll keep an eye on in the future!
  16. San Francisco - Bay Area by Mexicanboy13r

    Wow, Baker Beach is looking truly spectacular!! The thousands of rocks make it look stunningly realistic! Also the cloudy pictures are impressive, did you use Gizmo's Weather Effects mod? If so, it's strange but when I use it, it only seems to appear at the first 2 zoom levels. If I zoom in more, I see nothing... maybe it's incompatible with the Groundfog mod, which I also have installed. Keep it up Mexicanboy!!
  17. The Colonization of Hermoso

    OMG! This is really AWESOME!!! Never seen such wonderful pics before on Simtrop! How did you do this? I mean, if you use Photoshop, then how do you create the damp and fog, how do you create this reflection of the sun in the water, the texture of it etc. The color filters are excellent as well; haven't read the story, because I haven't visited that often, but man, what a cj! Got to catch up with it from the start!
  18. Euphora: A Mikeaut1 City Journal

    Awesome update Mike! Now I got a clear picture of the whole area; I particularly liked Pinedale and suburbian Ridgefield; definitely some great stuff in here, keep it up!
  19. Aldebaran

    Excellent updates Fredval! I like that rotated picture, and the cemetary is awesome; I wish you a nice holiday!
  20. Anduin Valley Revisited

    Geez, I could learn a lot of terraforming skills from this ultra-realistic update; well done!!
  21. Great update! I wonder what civilization is on that mysterious earth-like planet...
  22. L

    Wow, Alkaola, great updates! Just back from work, and I'm enjoying your work with a nice cup of coffee. I consider it a huge compliment that I inspired you on the reef islands! Yours are looking great too, and you keep your own style, so it doesn't look 'copied'. Too bad I cannot vote anymore, because I would have voted 'yes'. The effects are great, and they define your style, so keep using them. I don't think you put them in your pics to make them look more realistic, so from a realism-point of view, yes, one could say they're ugly. But on the other hand, your cj has a sort of comic-book effect just BECAUSE of the effects, and that's what I like so much about it, so please keep using them. They make this cj original, just as the weather reports do... Man, I hope this hurricane won't cause too much damage! Keep it up, you're doing such a good job here!
  23. Nexis of Genesis

    I can't believe Horatio Utora's new girlfrien has actually moved in! I'm sure he'll draw much inspiration from thi lucky turn in his life

    For Mayspacy's terrain and climate mods, go to https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/index.cfm?mode=files&filetype=all&category=default&sortby=DatePosted&show=12&Str=mayspacy . It's not really a climate mod, but it offers different terraintypes, from a cool northern european climate to tropical. go to http://www.gizmo.lunarpages.com . Here you can download the weather effects mod (only works in mayor mode). Register first (it's free), then go to the downloads section and choose miscellaneous props, there you'll find it. You could also check some maps and city journals to get some excellent examples of terrains Good luck!
  25. :: dynasty :: A Shadow Assassin CJ

    Wow! Some great terraforming, and the medieval outpost is really amazing on top of that rock! Great update ShadowAssassin! How did you create that banner at the top of your pics? I'm quite a newby on photoshop editing, and I'd like to know how you created that (especially the font-type and the 'images' inside of it. Keep it up!
