Amazing update Gurrgkud! The city zoo looks very inviting! I'd like to walk around there for an afternoon
  2. Glacier Valley

Wow! Great introduction to your journal, and: I'm the first to reply!! I'll be watching with interest what will come next... Btw, does your avatar refer to Immanuel? (if you know what I mean...)
  3. Cleres, the History.

Interesting... Is this what Poland looked like in the Xth century AD? As I understand from the update they still had some nature-based form of worshipping (similar to mythology like the Skandinavian and Germanic tribes I suppose) I see that the influence of Christianity reached as far as Germany in those times, and hadn't reached Poland yet. If I remember correctly from history lessons I had years ago, the empire of Charles the Great stretched out over almost entire western Europe, in an attempt to create an empire which had to be as great as the Roman empire (which collapsed some 500 years earlier). With the expansion of this empire, Charles attempted to convert Europe to Roman Catholicism. As far as I know the empire covered the area from Italy and Spain in the south to France in the west, to Germany and Holland in the north (which weren't actual 'countries' as we now know them, but merely a collection of separate city-states, tribes and strongholds, eventually merging into one empire under Charles the Great) Great update!
  4. Excellent updates! I wonder what will happen next... keep it up!
  5. Acorn Creek Region - An American Story

Wow PhilsCafe, this is a most excellent cj! I can't believe I haven't visited before... it's awesome! Your city, the picture editing, it looks great! Keep it up mate!
  6. The Colonization of Hermoso

Well, I'm sad to hear that, but fortunately this cj isn't dead! You've been doing an amazing job sofar, very inspiring as well, and I'm looking forward to a new update... but take your time mate!
  7. Newark

Awesome updates MayorTim, the downtown area is great! Lot of variety, wonder how you get it so right (no abandonment etc) Maybe a prevent-dilapidation mod?? You know, your city would be the perfect location for 6-lane freeways, if only they would be downloadable... Great work, keep it up!
  8. simtropolis city journal

Ehrm... Mr Heinz (Kb), somehow I got a slight suspicion that mister Ahmed won't come up with any pix at all (Well, as long as there is any ketchup...)
  9. simtropolis city journal

Hmmmm.... (looks at uncomprehensible dots and numbers... shakes his head, looks again.... checks replies... checks them again...) Hmmm... interesting, although I don't understand it (looks again at the dots and numbers... tries to grasp it... brain gets overheated...) Aha! I get it! You guys don't understand it either do you? You're intrigued by it, because you can't understand it, right? Someone said something about it being an artwork... Ehrm... I think I better spend my time with things I DO understand Btw, welcome to page 2...
  10. Xiziz - Shintose Evo Journal

90 minutes is pretty fast! i never managed that. Sometimes I get a very clear picture in my head of what the update must look like, and then I get to work. For example, my latest update didn't take me any building (which you understand if you follow the story, it's still in the beginning stage); so all I did was making some pictures, googled around somewhat and stored some more pictures, then I got to work with Photoshop, and that took me almost two hours for only 8 or 9 pics (I'm still a newbie and I have to find out many functions of the program); then I wrote the storyline, which took me an hour or so, then I started uploading it, and had to answer all the replies, and edit the txt, insert pix etc.: 45 minutes, then I was finally done, almost FOUR hours later; well... this is my record OK, cut the crap. Your update is great; I read the story, and you have a nice way of telling it; the pics are a great illustration, and i like the roadsigns, they're ok and make things more clear. Excellent maps and city-layout, so.. keep on!
  11. Urland, a (mostly) rural coastline

Nice updates sofar Nardo; i suppose the chickenfarm is a teaser? It can be really funny how you get loads of comments out of nothing sometimes... I experienced it myself lately. It's just a bit luck I guess, lots of people are curious about updates, but if your cj isn't on page 1, I guess they assume you haven't updated.. If you ARE on the first page, and a few people comment, it can cause a domino effect so to speak, resulting in an awesome number of posts Whatever... you're doing a great job, whether you get little comments or many, so I suggest you keep going on!!
  12. I don't think any 'rules' or whatsoever about commenting on cj's will be useful. In fact, we already have a lot of useful sugestions in the rules on how to post a cj and comment on it. Besides that, people should have the freedom to comment as they like, and this idea, how well meant it might be, doesn't add to that, so I voted 'no'.
  13. Welcome to Melanosia

Hmmmm... adding a little romance to the story? I'm sure the site is suitable for that, with the nice farmlands and a quite little town; or might this mysterious woman perhaps be a fortune teller? Who knows? Excellent update once again Sirgeoj2!
  14. Codreca

Great start to a cj! (OK I know it's a little late to say that; saw it already a few days ago, but didn't have the time to comment) It's looking good sofar, and your approach is original! Looking forward... to more
  15. San Francisco - Bay Area by Mexicanboy13r

Wow! amazing video once again! How on earth did you make this? It's looking great!
  16. -=CORDOVA=- ; a gurrgkud CJ

Wow! That downtown is looking great! And that tutorial... Hmmmm, I think I'm going to store that on my pc, it might be useful some time in the future...
  17. The Brastoval Bay Area

Beautiful island Aleking; I love the transition of the beach into the shallow water, with the coral reefs surrounding it, great job!
  18. MallowTheClouds Maps

Mallowthecloud. I've got a question: I saw your tutorial on creating international maps, and it's great; however, I wonder if there's a way to create custom maps of the same quality (i mean fantasy maps). Right now I'm terraforming maps ingame, and the larger the region, the more time it takes. Besides that, you don't have a nice overview of the region, since the regionview in SC4 is somewhat limited (especially on very large maps; for example 16x16 large tiles) I was wondering: is there a better, faster way to create the stunning maps you do, but this time of fantasy-regions?
  19. 70,000,000+ Sims

This is crazy stuff; never seen something spectacular like this... in one word: insane But keep it up, I want to see you reach the 200 million!
  20. Welcome to Melanosia

Again a very fine update Sirgeoj2! I particularly love the region map; it looks very good and gives a useful overview of the area; keep it up!
  21. Anduin Valley Revisited

Hmm, that really stinks, about your pc! Hope you'll have a new one soon Had some major problems too, a few months ago, so I can imagine you must feel quite frustrated about it
  22. Arlington County

Well, that sneak preview is sure promising!
  23. A Farewell from KOSC

too bad! It's been such a short time that I had the opportunity to enjoy your work.. Anyway: I wish you luck with RL, and hope to see you back here sometime
  24. Mapp Squad Columbia River Gorge

Wow! This is a perfect map!! really excellent! I'm mapping myself, and do the terraforming ingame, but I never reach the result that you do, so.. how do you terraform your maps? do you use some additional program for it? Do you have some hints or suggestions?
  25. My Citylexicon: A Cluster of Cities

How could I have POSSIBLY missed this cj!!! It's wonderful, amazing, stunning, extraordinary, original!!! Darn, I could look at your images for hours! I'm a great fan of the old European (read: Dutch) building style, and I'm really impressed with the flair and the grandeur you add to your region with classy monuments and huge squares! Also: I wonder what Zeeland (the map you're building on) would look like if this region really existed there! Keep it up, keep it up! keep on keeping on!
