Ok Im not trying to be negative about any other city simulation game to "preserve" Cities XL or anything but seeing that video I still got one feeling: That game sucks!!!! Sorry but it looks so childish and still the graphics are very cartoonish and childish, its seems to aim for younger people to me, it just doesnt feel like your going to build a real city. Also the concept of the gameplay doesnt suit me, it seems very SCS / City Life to me, which was exactly what got me disgusted in city simulation games. This game seems to me more concentration on keeping energy sources up and dealing with environment as said before on this thread. And those Simcorp stuff that the were planting down in the video, another silly idea for unrealistic city building. I might still change my mind in the future if they show more but for now after seeing the video I am more convinced that Cities XL is still a lot better then the upcoming SC5. Quite dissapointed with seeing these in-game video shots... Guys, if your looking for a decent realistic city building game please check out Cities XL, it has a lot of new mods, just look at what the community is doing with Cities XL now, please give it a shot, you wont regret! - Modding tools (create any kind of model, object, building, car, pedestrian,... - Big transportation mods (trams, roads, pedestrian paths, bicycle paths, road parking, parking lots, upcoming trains mod, ferrys, surfing, boat transports,...) - Enhanced mapping tools! (recently discovered a way to add extra maps in-game instead of replacing existing maps with an all new extensive mapping tutorial!) - New User Interface (huge mod giving complete rework on interface giving a lot more possibilites and subdivisions! - New extensive gameplay mods! (big mods changing gameplay and features extensively to give you more possibilities!!) - Community alive and kicking (more n more modders n players each day!) - more then 100-150 mods already available, with 4-5 new mods every week and growing! - + a lot a lot more please give it a shot! - Beautifull City Journals have been made, not only crazy cities but also very details, micro-managed realistic cities! visit www.xlnation.net for more ideas about mods, tutorials, cities visit Cities XL Video Channel to view videos about released mods, tutorials and more! I promise you, Cities XL 2012 goes a lot further then Simcity 4 Deluxe, thats a promise! Also I dont mean to be a spammer, I just want people to inform what is possible with Cities XL now because we all want to play the best available city simulation game and therefor you should know about what's going on!

Really dissapointed with these screenshots, the graphics looks so childish, it doesnt look realistic at all. Cities XL has much better graphics and they look much more realistic. Just look at the bridge and cars, it looks like f***in Playdoh and those trees, one is a green gay looking cone, the other is a green ball put upon a stick Another failure to launch, I rlly dont understand why some of you get excited by this. So far all features mentioned are already available in Cities XL 2012 and the graphics from Cities XL 2012 are much better. Stop dreaming for a new Simcity, go play the next standard in city sims: CXL 2012. Also nowadays Cities XL is gettings loads of wonderful and gamechanging mods (full working and functional trams anyone?) and with the modding tools you can create any kind or shape of building/model/… you want. Imagine modding in this new SImcity with this placid graphics engine, have fun trying to recreate some realistic looking textures n models… So far what I’ve seen it is definately not worth it. Try out CXL2012 instead peeps, wake up, Its much better! SC5 looks like an age -12 game... -

Hi! Welcome to my Cities XL 2011 City Journal about my first town Old Strattorth. 16 Oktober 2010 - 350 inhabitants. Interviewer: "Hello, we are here today with the brand new mayor of Old Strattorth, diScOpOlis. He will give us a short interview about his newly founded town Old Strattorth. Ok, Go ahead Mayor." Mr. diScOpOlis: "Thank you Misses... ... Welcome and thanks for checking by for my short introduction of my newly founded town Old Strattorth. Old Strattorth currently holds 350 inhabitants. Old Strattorth is a medieval orientated town that will be focusing on the farm industry and the local industries. Now for some visual presentation: This first picture shows off the current aerial view of Old Strattorth. Notice that Old Strattorth is nestled in the middle of a beautiful forest. Surrounding all of Old Strattorth. I plan to further invest in forest-grow by planting more trees which result in more dense forests. A closer look to the village center of Old Strattorth. Currently I'm low on a budget but we will be expanding step by step with the building of a church in the near future. Here you can see the local farms providing food to the inhabitants. It's lovely to just drive through the lane and enjoying the local farms surrounded by nature. And finally a picture of our local industry, filling up the need for jobs and giving an income to the locals. On the mountain is our Utility Center, that provides Old Strattorth of the basic needs. I hope you enjoyed watching my first humble city journal and if you got any comments, I'd be glad to read about them."
