No, I don't think Oppie's program was what I was thinking of, although that would not be bad. I was thinking of a program that would automatically cycle through train sets as the game ran so that different varieties of these train sets could be used. A train set would be composed of the plugins for any number of engines and their matching cars. For example, an Amtrack set may have 3 amtrak engines and a dozen amtrak cars, and a TGV set would have an engine or 2 and sevral different orange cars. These train sets would be loaded into the plugins directory simply by moving certain files in and out of it. This program would create the illusion that only one type of train was being used at a time. but then again, if Oppie's mod had an option to select random train set im sure it would be the same

What if someone were to write a program that would switch in and out different sets of engine's and cars....like a play list, every 10 minutes, a different group of plugins would be installed. One set could be a TGV, one set could be an Acela train, another could be an amtrak, and another could be the GO transit train. Perhaps someone on the modd squad would know how to do this.

Post Passenger and Elevated Rail Requests Here
thevoltmaster replied to BigRedFish's topic in SC4 Modding - Open Discussion
I like the General Electric Evolution locomotive. I believe that the way it is painted is very cool. This train has been called the train of the future for its high fuel efficiency, which should be important to my sims. https://www.getransportation.com/general/locomotives/freight_passenger.asp# -
New Passenger Rail Arrives!
thevoltmaster replied to BigRedFish's topic in SC4 Modding - Open Discussion
I have been very impressed with the work that you and trolca have done with the trains. In fact, so impressed that ive joined *gasp*. Keep up the good work! Id like to begin working on some train mods of my own but those probbably wont come out so well. Also on your first page, you said that the EMD F59PHI locomotive was the most efficient one on the rails but it seems like there is a new most efficient locomotive. GE has began production of their new evolution series which i must admit is really cool and beyond my image editing skills. (see attatched picture which isnt hosted in a way that i could insert it into the post) Any takers? I'd Really appriciate it. Thanks!!
