I need to restructure the industrial district and relocated the trade and mining offices down by the electronics division A foggy morning on the river And so it begins! Subtle advancement Less subtle Flashy Time to move into the future Bigger is better. Sure, lets have two.

Larger fire department structure for the quickly growing city. Nice bridge to make the shoreline less dull.

Traffic up to the industrial section was getting increasingly problematic. Seemed like a good time for a major overhaul. The waterfront wasn't particularly appealing and the ferry terminal is a money black hole but it looks nice. Bring in rail while I've got traffic control management on my mind. Cleared out the oldest part of the city. City Hall had to go as well, too bad. Residents moving back into the area. The boss gets some new digs next to campus. Then they slap up a fancy new tower right next door, nice? Then a few more. The region invests in a university affiliated hospital/medical center.

Guess that means I should post more pictures

The economy of this one quaint coastal town has become highly formidable. So much so I had to demo the coal plant and upgrade to oil. I've had to rework the roads heading up to the industrial sector for release of the traffic congestion slowing trade vehicles. A school of science for some grant money! Bye Bye Coal Hello Big OIL!

Here's a look "under the hood" so to speak for the data guys (and gals). October of year 5.

The University is quickly scaling up its programs and student enrollment. So much so that a my high tech business is booming and new headquarters are popping up.

I'll look into it; thanks for the recommendation.

Quite a bit of development going on in this update. Gaining some depth in terms of building elevation. Another smelting facility The suits smelled the money and set up shop right in the heart of the industrial district. From the water. From the cliffs above. Late evening. Although heavy industry is doing well, there was a need to upgrade the basic dirty industry; naturally the education of the citizens had to be upgraded too. Distribution centers coming close the residential/commercial sector of town. A nice night shot. You see the trade and engineering offices are expanding. Bringing in the high school to reduce the school footprint in the city and make room for higher education. And right next door is my first high density, medium wealth high rise. I party and sometimes go to class High tech follows I've got electronics level money now! Dusk.

I did expand water extraction as well to keep up with the industrial demand. Expanded city hall for transportation viability since I plan to increase the town density. It seems to rain a lot on this town. Expanded the coal plant power output using a some cleaner technology. My first bus station. Traffic is starting to get a little congested to and from the industrial corridor. Namaka's first medium wealth, medium density building. Followed quickly by it's second. First high density residental building. Expanded the sewage treatment and water reclamation facilities but space is at a premium.

Under the cover of darkness the economic engines still turn.

Thanks for the compliment Benedict. For me the enjoyment comes from the slow evolution of the city; you could refer to it as the "stop and smell the roses" approach. I've also found it easier to manage traffic when I develop the city in this way despite a strong desire to build out and up as fast as possible. The problem I encounter with the later approach is it's hard to determine where the traffic planning went wrong or how to fix it. Those are stock features for this map but I'm in agreement; the tropical hills, palms, and beach make a nice context for the city (even after I mine it to death).

Fire coverage was stretched a little thin before getting a new engine. Trade revenue is way up and the suits established a new corporate office for direct oversight Sewer and Water systems are being extremely taxed so city council voted to expand the public works department and to build a new sewer pump plant. Nice, affordable beachfront apartments. Never been better to be a contractor or a relator Making money hand over fist and the town treasury is exploding Additional engineers on site to support the enhanced metals development Getting more for our time and effort; in town metal production.

Needed a new police station to cover the far end of the town And fire coverage as well just down the road A look out over the town From a drone Time to increase the property density Lets DIG! DIG! DIG! Lets DIG! DIG! DIG! Wind power just can't get the job done. BOOM! That's what I'm talking about Speaking of BOOM, so did the business of physicians
