What the... I leave ST for a couple of months, and this is what has become of it?

Highway and NAM Puzzle Piece Walls
DuskTrooper replied to Xyloxadoria's topic in NAM & Transit Networks
Neat stuff you have going on here, mate! I've tinkered with the T21s before, and they are indeed a PITA to figure out, esp when it comes to the "tiling" and "mirroring" rules and such. I tried some of the stuff you did, but basically wrote the process off since it did not seem to be worth the effort where I was. Anyway, that's all I gotta say for now, and I'll be waiting for any updates! -
Spore Users Create Creatures to Protest EA's DRM
DuskTrooper replied to Xyloxadoria's topic in Current Events
Lawl, not this again. This is another one of the many reasons I am not interested in Spore. RIP Maxis/SC. There's a new boss in town, and its name is Cities XL. -
how does online play effect your decision to buy cities xl?
DuskTrooper replied to Ntq€310's topic in Cities XXL
To hades with online play! I've always played for ME, and NO ONE else. -
I heard that Washington Mutual is in some deep bollocks as well, with their stock down over 80 percent for the year... How many is that so far? On the quicklist is Fannie and Freddie, Lehman, Bear Stearnes, AIG... Not good at all.

Looks great, but I'm still waiting for more info regarding custom content creation and such! Oh and yeah, I'm still alive; been busy with uni and the hurricane and such.

Hehe congrats on the job. Oh, and I notice that Bugs Bunny toothpaste/vitamins or whatever the heck that is next to the....myriad of other useless crap in the drawer. Now if only I could find a job between semesters...*goes back to his other IRL/internets crap and lurking*

Mike Dixon-Kennedy, aka OnlyPlace4 or OP4
DuskTrooper replied to nerdly_dood's topic in Community Goings-on
Rest in peace, Mr Mike Dixon Kennedy. I had the pleasure of interacting and speaking with him a few times via IM. He was indeed quite a rich and colorful character. Rest in peace, and may God bless your family and friends and help them all get past this. I hope that his funeral will not be one of much grieving, but rather, a celebration of him and his life. -
Edward Kennedy diagnosed with malignant brain tumour
DuskTrooper replied to belfastuniguy's topic in Current Events
Hey, who deleted my post? I was trying to wish the senator well, while also setting an example of how one should react to and have respect for people they otherwise don't care about or even despise. -
How Wabi Sabi. or is it Kawaii... But yeah....only in Japan. There's nothing wrong with having a mascot type character representing something per se (like how the US has the Bald Eagle, and Canada has the Moose or Beaver or something...) but the way the character is depends on the culture... Just as long as they don't use a cheap anti-semitic mickey mouse ripoff, like Hamas did.

Wow, this is a new one. I already thought the myriad of BAT requests and such were selfish enough. It is as if people feel they are entitled to something because they really want it or have some sort of "deep connection" to it. Now some hapless lad wants someone to recreate an entire city... No further comments required...

A new level of silliness in civil rights!
DuskTrooper replied to LarksTonguesInAspic's topic in Current Events
Oh come friggin on; I like plants a lot (heck, gardening is one of my hobbies), and I find this absolutely ridiculous. Next thing you know, there will be affirmative action for weeds; meaning that for every whatever number of roses or whatever you have, you must also allow a ratio of noxious weeds a place in the garden. -

The Explanation and Cures to roughly 80% of CTD's!
DuskTrooper replied to Bumdark's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Most of my CTDs seem to occur either due to the obvious (faulty plugins/missing plugins/conflicting plugins, etc), or when using the "save and exit to region" feature. This seems to use up more RAM, causing an access violation error, and has caused many grave losses when saving larger cities (although, thankfully, I back up on a schedule, which softens the blow slightly). A simple solution to this, if anyone else experiences it, is to save by pressing ctrl+s, and THEN exiting to the region afterwards, without saving again. Excellent topic BTW: I'm sure many folkzen will find this helpful. -
I'm prepared to make a windfall with my glue and adhesives based stocks. Yeah, I know, that's a tad CRUEL, but SOMEONE has to make a profit, eh? /sarcasm; I don't actually own any glue stocks, but Alpo futures are looking good right about now...
