I feel bad for Ocean Quigley.

When I was little, I used to play games made by Maxis (SimTown, SimAnt, SimCopter, Streets of SimCity, and older SimCity titles to name a few). I, too, feel sorry for Ocean Quiqley and the other folks of Maxis. It wasn't their fault, as they worked hard; it was more or less EA's fault that made it into a DRM nightmare. -

My mind has been made. I've decided to get SimCity (2013) for my birthday. I shouldn't listen to those negative reviews too much. In fact, I wasn't thinking about building a city that is as big as Wilmington, Delaware or Birmingham, Alabama. I know about the sales of the digital download version of this game (I'm plan getting the physical version of it) has been suspended due to server issues, but I bet the server issues will be resolved by July of this year, even though July is a long way from now. And, no, I'm not replacing SimCity 4 with SimCity (2013), just I have replaced The Sims 2 because I have The Sims 3. On second thought, maybe I'll wait a lot longer than July 16th until SimCity (2013) become playable. I don't when that'll be, but I'm pretty sure it's gonna be a very, very long time. -

I've played the game for over ten hours. There are a plethora of problems, excluding the servers. The game is limiting and not as playable as Simcity 4. Not as much control, not as many options, and you are directed more in how to build. The graphics are great, and probably were designed with the idea to limit/eliminate modding from users. Too many similar graphics. Not enough selection. Especially in things that might drive tourism. This game is a shadow of how incredible Simcity 4 is. Which is too bad, especially at $80. When it comes to problems not relating to the servers, I get a strong feeling that there will be patches to the game. Not to mention, when it comes to modding, SimCity (2013) will allow it, but as the game just launched yesterday, it doesn't support modding at this moment, as said by this article: https://www.simtropolis.com/news/_/simcity-2013/sim-city-2013-will-support-mods-just-not-at-launch-r241 -
Hello! Since I am intending to get SimCity (2013) for my birthday, which is in the 16th of July, I don't know if I should get it or forget it. The things that I don't care about: -Always-Online play. -The city size limit. -The lack of terraforming (a big waste of time for me, anyway.) -The server issues I hear about (they will get fixed) -The lack of laying down pipes and power lines. The reason why I'm posting this is because of the overwhelmingly negative user reviews in Amazon. It makes me feel like history is repeating itself, as in remember Duke Nukem Forever, where after 14 years of development, it ended up to be a disappointment? Well, even though SimCity (2013) did well with critics, many players starting to feel gypped, and it irks me, because I find it to be a pretty good game.
