The Capital of the World!
pikatchoum replied to spacenuteskimo's topic in Architecture & Urban Planning
Originally posted by: callagrafx London has been historically the Capital City of the World, in the days of the Empire. Everyone is forgetting London sets the standard time for the rest of the World, as the Prime Meridien bisects Greenwich (hence Greenwich Mean Time). It is one of the most important financial trading centres and has been long before New York was even a shanty town. If population was your only yardstick, NYC would not come anywhre near as it has only the 13th largest population (Mumbai has the most). I agree with Tonks, pointless thread, ripe for incineration. And Krio, I really think you need to research your facts before you post...NYC and London really don't have bombs going off every week...maybe you were thinking Beirut and Baghdad?quote> Paris has also been the Capital of the world (Napoleon,Charlemagne)...Rome also (Roman Empire). So what you say means nothing. Before the Greenwich Meridien, people used the Paris Meridien so that means nothing too. I dont think it could be a capital for the world. Anyway, i think New York is the most apropriate cityto be the world capital. That don't mean it's the best city. -

Show us your most unique and creative transportation network!
pikatchoum replied to Dr. Neitchskrimfrauwnmoya's topic in SC4 Showcase
i j' Originally posted by: SpecialEddie I must say that everyone's transportation networks are spectacular. I've just started playing with custom STEX stuff last week, but here's what I discovered when working with PEG's CSK Canal Locks... I don't know if this is realistic (or plausible even), but I made an aqueduct/bridge for ships. I think that the aqueduct bridge would collapse under the pressure of the ships, but seeing as it's SimCity...it hasn't happened yet. Note: I was just too lazy to make a railroad overpass over the canal so voila. That's the result. Tell me what you think. -SpecialEddie (or Eddie) quote> Wonderfull! And yes it's realistic! There is an overpass like this in France (in Toulouse i believe).(over a motorway) Great job anyway. -
i know i know i know....i missed updates!! lol But I was in vacations so i'm sure you will forgive me So great update! I noticed in the previous, previous update bench with a little path and some spotlight,i guess they're yours.I find them very nice, and a great detail. And in the previous update,i like the way you used the peg water!A great idea (il fallait y penser ).I always discover some new concept of development here!! Thanks . It's great to see thaht the game "peut encore nous surprendre" (sorry, lack of vocabulary). Well,i have two question,i'm actually working on a new city (wow,so i'have 4 city to build lol),and i'm planning a seaport, with a military part,so i wonder where can i find these lot with the submarine (and the tower crane) Next,i noticed had some very nice beach (some update earlier),so as my new city will be a kind of Miami,i would like to know how you did them. Thanks
