  1. Yeah, I was trying to save 20 bucks by not having to buy the other version but I think I'll just break down and get it and see if it works. I run Spyware Doctor as my anti-virus, I haven't really tried turning it off cuz I have to restart my computer every time. I figured the patches for SC4 deluxe would delete when I uninstalled the game but maybe I was wrong. The maxis folder is gone and I checked my downloads cuz that's where my custom content is for the sims2 but there was nothing in it. I'll just pick up deluxe tomorrow and see if that works.
  2. Haha, yeah that makes sense. I guess I meant SC4 + RH. Well, the whole point was I was hoping to be able to just install the plain one I bought. I found it pretty cheap and was hoping I wouldn't have to go back and buy SC4 Deluxe. Mostly I just don't know what the error message means. It's seems as though the patches I downloaded when I previously borrowed SC4 deluxe are interfering with SC4 plain that I just bought, even though I uninstalled it. I'm just not really sure how I would go about fixing it. Like I said, I'm mediocre at best with computers but, D@mn! do I love playing Sim City.
  3. Ok, I've scoured the forums and haven't found any questions related to my problem here. A little background: I borrowed SC4 RH from a friend a while back and installed it. Went through all the random game crashing and stuff. I recently found a copy of SC4 plain for cheap and uninstalled SC4 RH and installed SC4 plain and got the updates from EA. I haven't been able to open the game, the error I get is "A debugger has been detected" "Unload the debugger and try again" I'm not exactly a computer genius so I don't even know what that means. I checked the forums on EA's site and tried the solutions they suggested but that didn't work, so I e-mailed tech support on the EA site and got a response that basically said check the forums. If anyone has encountered this problem or knows what I can do, it would be much appreciated. I'm running Vista on a 32 bit operating system. My processor is an AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4000+ 2.10 GHz with 2 gigs of RAM if that makes any difference. I updated my drivers fairly recently. Thanks in advance if anyone can help.
