SC4 & screen monitors...sorry for the double post, the computer wasn't working so i pressed it twice by accident.

I have a dual monitor set-up, and it displays on one screen. It depends on how you have the windows desktop set up. I can stretch the desktop from one to the other, in which case I could set up SimCity with the custom resolution and have it stretch. I tried it once, but the division between the two monitors kept getting to me. -
The Official Second Amendment / Gun Ban Thread
ImpliedObject replied to Meg's topic in Current Events
Just for a little balance here... The UK (which outlawed every privately owned handgun by 1997) is seeing an alarming increasing in the use of knives to commit crimes. Criminals will use whatever they can to commit crime. Ban one method, they go for another. Here is the link to the article. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/crime/article2284258.ece (does this mean there will be a waiting period at the steakhouse before I can cut my steak so I can pass my background check?) An Australian article along the same lines. While there are numerous gun laws, knives are the top weapon now. http://www.aic.gov.au/media/2001/20010212.html Pro or anti gun, controlling them will not make crime disappear. All it does is move the statistic to a different category. Also, I read the second amendment not as giving us our right, but to keep that right from being infringed. It says "the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed". Our right was already there before the Constitution was drafted. The second amendment was put in to make sure that right was not infringed. -
Simcity 4 on new computers bought in 06/07

I have had the same problem with my 1900XTX. If you are running straight XP, try stepping down to 5.11 or the 5.12 version of the drivers. Around 6.2 is where it really slows the game down. That is how I fixed it on my old machine. My new one runs XP64 so I am stuck with only the newest drivers. I finally gave up and set up a dual boot with windows2000 and it runs great under 2000. Hope this helps. -
Anyone here an Architect?
ImpliedObject replied to Jersey_17011's topic in Architecture & Urban Planning
I got my Bach. of Architecture back in 2003. It was a five year program with about a total of 160 credit hours needed to graduate. Some schools have been switching to 6 year programs and you end up with a Masters degree. I have been working in a residential firm for the last 2.5 years now and I has been a lot of fun. It is a smaller firm so the attention from the top people is pretty good. So far I have not had a lot of oppertunities to design, mostly just CAD work. Once you get a job, (at least in the US) you then start your IDP (Intern Developement Program - see http://www.ncarb.org/). This is designed so a new grad in the marketplace can gain experience in multiple areas (design, structures, community service etc.) to help them prepare for when that want to take the registration exam. Depending on the ype and size of the firm as well as the person, the IDP program generally takes between 3 and 5 years to get all the credits needed. Afterwhich, you can start taking the parts of the registration exam to become fully licensed. Hoped this helps.
