Well it depends what they do. If it costs full price for all of us then id class that as abandoning the game, if its an expansion then id feel a little better about it but still not happy about paying more for something they promised in the first place i spose if its an expansion and it costs, you could just think of it as a one off planet offer to get the extra stuff they said they would do in the first place. I paid for 3 months and havent re-subscribed, so i wonder if ill (we) be eligable for the packs

Im a little happier now that i managed to get my online game into offline mode, quite simple actually just copying and pasting a fiel and renaming it Hopefully no bugs in changing it

Im not sure how i feel about this whole thing. I mean i bought CXL on release and payed for 3 months sub. Fair enough i played it and used the online features, but in my own mind i felt like i bought a broken game, a game that shouldnt have been released as it was. Now that its closing and no more fixes are being done, well i feel robbed!!!! I still have so many outstanding tickets on things going wrong with the game and knowing there not going to be fixed kinda pishes me off, if Cities XL 2011 comes out and i have to pay for it i wont be a happy bunny, even if it is classed as an addon. They cant just abandon a game that so many people payed for and then just dump cos the money isnt going there way, thats just rediculous, the more i type the more my blood is boiling so im just gona stop and put this is a nasty letter, im sure ill have to freeking translate it to french so they understand what the hell im saying!!!! Rant over

I personally dont have a problem with pollution since i build away from populated areas. Its quite easy to build a self sustaining city and not get smogged down by pollution. I do belive pollution is working as intended but i also think that the population slightly over react to the pollution. There should be no means of reducing pollution but there should be a better means of offsetting it.

Solo Game Saved Over My Planet City!!!

Well at least Mathew was "quick on the trigger" and solved your issue 'overnight'. Also for those subscribing to the planet offer is good to know that the server maintain backup versions of the player's cities... quote> Yeah i was going to be very disapointed if they didnt have backups. Its almost an idiotic thought, to think that they didnt but with the way things are going at the moment, you you would forgive me for thinking they didnt do backups. -
Solo Game Saved Over My Planet City!!!
zerosugar replied to zerosugar's topic in Cities XXL Technical Issues
Originally posted by: niloluiz During the beta I personally reported this problem to MC. Seems it wasn't fixed..... like many other urgent problems by the way.... However the "method" was different and required a mod to work..... So if you use the same name for both your on-line city and solo, the game will use the solo-version that is already loaded into the memory and when you enter the planet mode and then exit, the solo version is uploaded to the server.... quote> Thats exactly what happens niloluiz but the map is blank, what i had saved from solo was not uploaded, just the blank map -
Solo Game Saved Over My Planet City!!!

Originally posted by: Mathew_MC Hi zerosugar, Your South Shields city has been restored to the last correct save file known. Let me know if it is properly back up. The issue is of course being investigated. As a reminder to everyone, make sure you send your issues to our Support team too, through the form on www.citiesxl.com/feedback, and not only in this part of the forums quote> Thank you so much mathew. I now have at least a little faith restored that MC can do at least something right. I have reported it through feedback at the same time and i have to say, you were quicker, i still havent had a responce from the feedback. I just hope they dont "undo" what you "redid" ;p -
Iv been building up quite a good independant city called South Shields on Hyperion, it was on The Grassy Plains map and apperently still is. Only trading 5 offices to omnicorp for a bit of extra cash bringing in 8300c (and still is) I wanted to go into solo just to test out a few things before i put them to use in planet mode so i saved, come out then went into solo, chose the paninsula map since ive never actually had a go on it before and called it South Shields. I layed out the starting blocks, road, power, hall. My plan was to see if i could build only using Tier3 objects and to my suprise you can sustain an income doing so. Decided id hade enough so exited and went back to planet mode only to find that my planet city had been replaced with a blank paninsula map. 0 pop, 400000 cash but still gaining the income from the 5 offices i was trading with omnicorp, can you imagine the panic if this was trading to a player, there going to loose there 5 city tokens from me and give me a bad reputation. But hey the bad rep is the last of my worrys, were the hell has my city gone, i cant belive that the solo game has been saved over my planet city, with a totally different map to whats supposed to be there and not only that its EMPTY!!!!!! So i have officially had enough of this bull from MC i cant be bothered starting again, it would have been fine if it was my fault but im not happy about paying to play online uptil now to have my city wiped. I will be demanding my money back. Such a shame really cos i love the game but can you imagine if it was something like wow or aion and you spent the full day lvling up only for it to vanish, im sure you would be pissed too

Thanks Okeanos, a big help. So now i know there are numbers involved, have MC released these numbers are is it all down to guess work? Id love to get my hands on all the figures and ill check out the site you suggested, time to dust of my D grade GCSE german memories haha

POLL: Would you pay for extra content for single player?
zerosugar replied to Asheroo's topic in Cities XXL
i wouldnt be happy if they made us pay for the single player stuff. I payed £29.99 for a single player game and im paying per month for the right to get this new content. Thats the way they put it in there own words, so no, i expect everything recieve through planet offer to equally work on single player, if i have to pay more, i wont be buying it -
Will you continue your Planet Offer if the features and gameplay remain same...
zerosugar replied to mrmaye's topic in Cities XXL
personally if im not convinced by the first feature pack, then i wont be paying again, cos if they release it for the sake of content and not to fix the issues it has currently then they obviously care about there own creations than listening to us -
Originally posted by: Kredit Trade credit tokens "represent" your cashflow, where 1 token is 100c. Eacht "turn" (the white/red stopwatch in the middle of the screen indicates turns) your cashflow is added to your cash reserves. The cost of a trade is deducted from your cashflow, so you pay the price each turn. Example: you have 8000 cashflow and 1000000 cash, each turn you get 8000, so a turn later you have 1008000. Then, you accept a contract to buy 1 electricity token for 40 credit tokens. Now, you're cashflow will be 8000-(100*40)=4000. So the next turn, you'll get 4000 and have 1012000... (except of course for the fact that the extra ele token enables your city to operate better, increasing your income, creating jobs, etc. )quote> I LOVE YOU MAN!! that helped alot!

Does ANYONE understand the math involved in calculating the trades of CXL. How many citizens does 1 farm handle How many Heavy industry does 1 manufacturing need How many High Tech does an office need But thats not all, thats just to keep your token balance at 0 If i build 60 wind turbines to get a token balance to 0. The math says this is costing me 30500c per month, well ok, But then, say 1 elec token is gona cost me 50c just as an example, this will last for 5 days, well how often am i paying 50c over this 5 day period. Ive been told that 50c trade is 5000c game money but how the hell is this worked out as well?? Is it me or is all of this just missing, there is no explination anywhere i could go on and on but im just starting to complicate things even more

forgive me for being the person who disagrees with the "fine thread" theory. But wouldnt it be wise to double build in bulk somehwere out the way the same amout of stuff that your going to demolish, this way you wont loose anything. Then you can put back what you need to where you want it and delete the out the way bulk that you built. Just my two cents cos thats what i do and its never gone wrong yet
