  1. Hello all, I haven't played Simcity 4 in years and just started up again. I am trying to get a hang of region play. I have an industrial city next to my suburb type city. The industrial city keeps needing more and more power, but I can't make any of the more advanced power plants like Nuclear. Right now I am on my third coal powered plant. Is there something else I can do rather than keep placing coal plants? Also does anyone know of a good guide for region play? Such as when I want to make a 3rd or 4th region connected to the 2 I currently have. Thanks!
  2. Can't figure out this game

Hello all, Does anyone know if there is any documentation online for this game other than the tutorials inside it? I am having trouble with building up my city. My industries are complaining about selling heavy industry and not enough freight but nothing I do seems to help. I am just looking for something that might tell me exactly what they are complaining about so I can help them. Also I did the trade tutorial in game but I still don't understand exactly what these tokens do and such. My land has no fuel or any fertile land to produce food. So I am wondering how I go about buying or trading for that on the market but I don't understand how these tokens are supposed to help me. Thanks!

My economies goes in the tank and my city is toast. I played the beta and recources in most citys were scarce to say the least you HAD to trade for the things you didnt have. I can see the pure frustration from just that problem driveing many many people away from this game. just my 2 cents quote> I just started the demo about two days ago and started making my first trades yesterday. A few hours after confirming a few deals a bunch have already been cancelled. What good is making trades that can be cancelled at any time? I thought after you made a deal you couldn't cancell it for 5 days. This game isn't going to do well with the current trade system setup. I for one am not going to purchase this game at release. Maybe I will see how it goes after a month. They should really stay in beta longer until they can figure out a system that actually works. My one other complaint is that I can't actually do what I want in the game. If we are going to be limited to only a few types of maps because the good ones get taken up quickly then why am I going to pay extra money to not be able to play the way I want?

I really don't understand this whole token system they got going here. If the population tokens don't mean anything then why do I have negative numbers under them sometimes and the game tells me I need to purchase population tokens. There is also no way to anticipate which tokens I am going to need. This would make a lot more sense if they said your city uses X amount of fuel to operate and then I can import Y amount from another city to anticipate city growth. Also in the demo at least the trading system is a real pain. The interface is bugged for one, then when you fix one problem it just leads to another and some of them you aren't capable of fixing.

How much are the tokens equal too? What I mean is how will I know when I need to make a trade for a certain resource? Also do you know what the unqualified worker and such tokens do?
  6. Hello all, I just started to play again after many years. I would like to zone my parcels manually to make sure that larger industries build there. I was wondering if someone can give me a run down on what size zones will produce? Such as 1x1, 2x2, 4x4. Also what is the largest that can be zoned? If I put down a 6x6 will something build there? Can this same technique also be used for residential and commercial zones? Thanks!
