Tobbe66, You Should be okay for lower end Settings, I'd definitely Upgrade your Video Card though, and Possibly Processor to avoid a bottleneck. I'm running: Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit AMD Phenom X6 1065T 2.9Ghz (Oc'ed to 3.4ghz) 8GB RAM ATI 6850 Graphics Card

I too have this problem on my laptop's quad core, can't get it to use more than 1 fricken core. Really Annoying, anyone know about this issue? last I checked though...CXL didn't support multi's which was one reason why sales went down.

Who took over Cities Xl License from Monte Cristo
Hail91 replied to Bradonville103000's topic in Cities XXL
This is great news! we have a release date, reguardless of how much modding is done with the original I am going to probably pick this up, seems like its well done according to press release, they mention full public transportation and "events in town", idk, just seems cool to me, anyone else think so? oh and, still holding on to original cities XL thanks to all the dedicated modders out there! -
I still play SC4, never will get old, but CXL has made some progress in some areas, particularly the visuals, have fun with the game! I'm just waiting for some mods to come out, as many people here have figured out how to mod the game files
-
Good to hear, it's not a bad game, it not meant to serve the same purpose and SC4, people often confuse the two, SC4 is more of a city-builder/MANAGEMENT game, CXL is a BUILDING game, and thats mainly it. It is great for building beautiful cities, with amazing skylines etc. but more is coming to the game through modding you should check out the custom content forum, people are on the verge of unlocking everything MC had originally locked (but now they are gone) like mass transit (although not fully complete yet, this may change) and new buildings, gem's etc.! have fun, remember! don't try to compare it too much to SC4 you might start to hate it I like the game though.

I run this with my new Lappy, with core i7 (2.26 ghz), ATI 5870 mobility, and 6 gigs of ddr3 ram. But there is hope for others, My old laptop had a intel core 2 duo (2.0 ghz) 4 gigs ram, and ati 3650 and I ran CXL on high with 2xAA smoothly, riddle, just upgrade your GPU, and probably your cpu and you'll be fine.

I agree with mentarmen, just put it on another site until you have the okay from simtrop.
-
The moderator's reasoning for saying no was due to possible jeapordization of simtropolis and it's staff, I say if you want to release this, (as said in previous comment) release it on google or something, I see in no way how this is harming the game, MC only banned mods that affected PO, which, oh? is now gone forever, you could argue that the new company plans to release the gems? yes, maybe? in a new game? we have no idea....<---Cities XL is dead, if anything is sold, it will be torward CXL 2011, which for all intensive purposes will never happen, I don't see how this is dangerous if released on diff host, or website.
-
Also, I have a question, if they (the new company), are planning on releasing at some point CXL 2011, then in essence, we would be modding an old game? unless CXL 2011 (if it's ever released) will just be a patch of the original, we shall see, just a thought.
-
I feel that you should release this mod, I'm not trying to condole illegal activity, but MC does not exist anymore, this was made official to this community, and we haven't heard anything of the new developer at this point, globex, I think it's a great idea, and? if it is illegal, like the aforementioned post, you will 99% chance, get told to stop, and if you do, all is well, I say release it, that would be wonderful, but, the decision is yours, thanks for at least making modding a reality

Cities XL Data file Extractor and Packager
Hail91 replied to jeremy12's topic in Cities XXL Custom Content Creation
A wonderful too jeremy, thanks much!, now, is there a way to say? extract a map that was only available in PO, and use it in the game, because I've extracted rio de janero but I have no idea where to put it if it will even work. thanks! -
No Problem dude good luck! and, and toshiba with nvidia GT230M, that's not bad, not top of the line for the nvidia 2xx series, but still damn good for a laptop, you got a deal there, lol, I'm looking at selling my lappy to a friend who will pay 600 for it, and then buy a laptop I have on hold at circuit city, Asus laptop with intel core i7-320@2.3 ghz (overclockable/hyperthreading), 4 GB ddr3, ati mobility radeon 5470 with 1 GB dedicated ram all for 799$! not bad
-
yeah dude, you should be able to, the ati 4xx series is pretty good, I'd say you could run it on all high, you may need to lower anti-aliasing though when your city gets huge. -And, Btw, thats a great deal for the hardware, 599.99 for it, that's a bargain I think, I bought a toshiba laptop 6 months ago, with intel core 2 duo t6400 2.0 ghz, ati HD 3850 (great card btw), and 4 gigs of ddr3 ram, friggin cost me around 1k, i think your laptop will do the job. BUT! if you can find something slightly more powerful without jacking the price up too high go for it. So, yes that laptop will do the job, good luck!
