    Once the satisfaction drops below 50% they stop moving in and actually even start deserting their homes. There are multiple tools you can use to get information about problem areas. First of all make sure you have enough tourism (pref. green). Verify your road infrastructure, check the passengers overlay. Make sure you don't have to much unemployment over 5-6% The satisfaction overlay is very nice as you can see where your problem areas are. Once you have identified those you can verify the rest of the infrastructure around that area like roads, health, education and the rest.

  3. Cities XL population growth per density

    Thats ackward .I remember during the demo I was trying to maximize the popluation too 21999. The low density hold 54/55 and the medium density hold 109/110. For each medium density building I placed there was a growth of 109 or 110. The same was for low density no matter if it was unqualified, qualified or executive, they all added 54/55. I remember this very well as I was counting the population after the construction of each lot. I even deleted/recreated just for the sake of monitoring growth.

  6. Trading on Caliban is non-functional

    They must have done some serious beta testing if they did not see this coming. I don't understand how they can't have a safe system in place for this. If trading is done asynchronous how could my heavy industry go to -64 tokens and manufacturing sky rocket to +100? Not to mention loosing over 100k in cash flow. They should also say something about the status of the trading servers on the game launcher. They have alot to learn...oh dear...

    Oh my highways highways. The intersections are cool indeed. Only problem is you have to demolish half city block to place one. Oh and btw did you know that an highway intercity link costs 100.000 each turn (cash flow)? I found out the hard way. Well they give you +100 to transportation but stil ouch. What I don't like is that none of the intersections support expressways. You need that converter from highway to expressway. I need to post some screenes. Will update this post soon.

  9. Hi Orlin, I used the same "workaround" while playing the demo. I am however expecting this problem to be solved in a retail client. They can't expect normal users to start digging around in the installation folder after alternative launch files. Thats a very nice first impression they leave you with......not.
  10. I just finished the installation of the Cities XL Limited Edition digital download. When I start the game using the icon under the start menu I get the following error message: The same error message apeard when I was starting the demo client as well. Please notice that this error message is from the retail version. I am running Windows 7 rc.1 64 bit.

I have also pre-ordered the digital download and I received the following e-mail from support@gamesplanet.com: We will send you your download links for the game via email the moment they are available then, on the day of release, the 08/10/2009 at 00:01, you'll get an email with your activation key. If you visit www.gamesplanet.com you can read the following for Cities XL Limited Edition Pre-Order: Play on the day of release! ! Get your download links and activation code by email the 09/10/2009 at 00:01. Also notice that they don't mention the time zone. Is that GMT? or GMT+1? The file size is now listed on gamesplanet.com: 3447 MB
  12. We have two launch dates. 8 october for Germany and France if I am not misstaken and 9 october for the rest. (other european countries and US). Don't ask me why France and Germany gets a head start. I am surprised that pre-order customers don't get a head start.

    Removing mass transit from the PO and making it a GEM or expantion removes a part of the value with having a PO subscription. They need to have PO specific features beyond chat, trade if they expect people to commit to a subscription model.

Should we receive a download link for the client before midnight on wednesday? Looking at the following page www.gamesplanet.com/UK/pc-games/buy-download-Cities-XL-Limited-Edition-1481-17.html states that the link to the client should arrive at the same time as the key. Not to mention that they have a different date: 09/10/2009 at 00:01.
