  1. another alternative, besides using mods, could be to look up tutorials in the omnibus. it has quite a few tutorials that can help you with city planning/region play.
  2. Overloaded subway lines

due to the pathfinding method used in SC4, making a track run paralell to the side of another track doesn't work well. instead, have them branch off at an equal distance and THEN run paralell--like this: ----------{:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::---------------- that way, hopefully the congestion will decrease. as for high-capacity tracks, I would look online, either on the STEX or somewhere else.
  3. Does anyone have any ideas on building cities with slope mods active? I have Ennedi's slope mod active, along with a raiser/digger lot mod (not smoncrie's). unfortunately, everytime I try to build my city, I run into a problem with sharp elevation level-offs. I get notifications that I cannot build a road, street, anything. is turning on/off the slope mod the only option to fix this?
  4. underground network?

As for rail, I don't really know of one, you would just have to transfer rail to subway right before the border and transfer to rail once you cross the border.quote> so that works for highway, but not rail...okay, at least that's part... Originally posted by: Spinmaster Actually underground rail does exist in NAM. FLUPs has underground roads/avenues/one-ways. Both appear to be UDI-capable, too (and emergency vehicles can use the FLUPs). Unfortunately neither allows building RCI on top, they're not "true" underground networks, just pieces you plop that "look like" what's on top, yet "look like" they pass traffic underneath. They're mainly intended for building one network underground with another network above. They also have grass/transparent pieces, useful for sending it under a park or even a river. I don't think either is capable of neighbor connections, though. For highway, yes - Big Dig I think is all there is, but since that converts highway to subway (not a "natural" conversion but subway is the only "true" underground network in SC4), UDI and emergency vehicles are impossible, plus you have to watch not to accidentally cross your Big Dig high-subway with a real subway line.quote> okay...so I can create ploppable underground-rail, but it's not really underground...*sigh* okay, I guess i'll just have to bring it up to the surface (or bring the surface down...) for neighbor connections. but, that shouldn't be much of a problem, since it only takes one or two squares for the connection... does the big-dig sub-highway have a conversion piece? or does it (can it) connect to the end of a tunnel? does it have the same capabilities as subway (90-degree turns)? will it interfere with my subway system? these questions are all easily solvable, but answers will be helpful (and will prevent me from creating a double-subway network). thank you for your help so far, and again any answers will be appreciated.
  5. I have a revolutionary dream for a SC4 transit network. the idea is underground transit: rails, highways, etc. are all underground, except in all-rural areas, and stations/on-off ramps. however, I have one question: is there a way to form underground neighbor connections via tunnels? this is the key; any answers/solutions are very much appreciated
  6. How are you supposed to place seaports? I have attempted to place one in three of my industrial-center cities, but I can't connect a road to the new building. Thanks in advance.
