Thanks for your replies all. In the first actual update this will actually get off of the ground (it should be tomorrow). OK, so tallying up the votes, it looks like Tile 6 will be the starting point. I've added a poll for the name of the city based on suggestions. Vote your heart out! Cheers.

I didn't think the patch would do much. What is the model of your laptop? I also believe changing the CPU affinity is worth a try, but first I want to know what your hardware is.

Unfortunately, unless someone who was on the SimCity 4 dev team would happen to appear, exception reports are rarely much of a help. What model is your laptop? The latest version of SC4 is 1.1.640, which means you don't have the BAT patch installed. This isn't a real biggie though at the moment,. nonetheless I would recommend installing it. Have you tried running it as administrator? Just listing off a few things.

I know this won't be much help (I never really am much help), but since you've implied that the majority of the crashing is when attempting to save, do you have all available patches and updates installed? Update 1 and Update 2. Have any of the city tiles ever become corrupted? Have you installed any new plugins recently? Have you tried playing without them (in a new city)? Has it always been crashing at saves, or is this just a recent development? What operating system are you running by the way? I can't help but be curious.

Welcome to the Municipality of Ruskay, an interactive CJ. While specifics aren't set in stone, there are various things I would like to do, such as allow users to purchase plots of land and so forth (original and mind-blowing no?). While there's no specific geographic location for Ruskay, I can say that it's in a temperate mediterranean climate (think Seattle; nice and cool with quite a lot of showers). Anyway, here's a overview of the region as of late: TIle 6 has been voted as the starting place for the currently unnamed city. Vote for a name above! So let's get this boxcar on the rails and start pushing. Cheers.

Screen Resolution Issues

Originally posted by: Retep Molinari Thanks so much! With both suggestions, however, it says it's invalid. Any ideas? Thanks again!quote> You didn't edit anything in between the quotes, right ("C:\Program Files... ...SimCity 4.exe")? Have you tried appending just -CustomResolution:enabled -f -r1920x1080x32 to the end? Did you edit the correct field? Have you tried a different shortcut? This is what mine looks like (from the start menu): -
Screen Resolution Issues

Right click on the SC4 shortcut of your choice (on the desktop, taskbar, start menu, or just do this to all of them) and select properties. Go into the Shortcut tab and look at the Target field. It should look something like this: "C:\Program Files\Maxis\SimCity 4\Apps\SimCity 4.exe" Change it to this: "C:\Program Files\Maxis\SimCity 4\Apps\SimCity 4.exe" -intro:off -CustomResolution:enabled -f -r1920x1080x32 Or if you want it windowed, you could do something like this: "C:\Program Files\Maxis\SimCity 4\Apps\SimCity 4.exe" -intro:off -CustomResolution:enabled -w -r1680x1050x32 Hope this helps. By the way, the -intro:off tag removes that obnoxiously loud intro movie. Edit: If you have a 64-bit operating system, it will look like "C:\Program Files (x86)\Maxis\SimCity 4\Apps\SimCity 4.exe" instead.
