Problems with 'How to Make Money the Easy Way' Tutorial

Thanks very much for the advice. I will try your advice, but I still don't understand the core problem. I have demand for residential, and residential abandonment in the same city. -

I have not since my demand for industry is negative. I would think my positive demand for hosting would take care of the no job zots/abandonment. -

For the houses that actually have work there is traffic to the industrial city to the right. This is validated by checking the traffic volume data overlay. -

Traffic seems fine to me, I'm kind of stumped. This is the second time that I've tried to follow this tutorial and the second time I've run into this problem. I should note that I have the most recent NAM installed with the 'Medium' traffic simulator -

I'm following Soldyne's tutorial "how to make money the easy way" And I am getting lots of no job zots and abandonment, I'm not sure why. I've attached the census reports for both cities. Can somebody please explain to me what is happening? Thanks! Here's the Census for the Industrial City Here's the Census for the Residential City -
Prahaslav Update #3 Population: 102,000 Funds: $11,000,000 Profit: ~$2,100/mo Much more growth has occured as my city has now exceeded 100,000 citizens. Busniess growth has been primarily high-tech and offices, which the majority of my citizens are still 'skilled workers'. This is the first update where Elites have moved into Prahaslav. The plan is to continue to develop the "old city center" and to expand the suburbs southward toward the river. As soon as highways are unlocked I plan to develop the southern area of the map with a CBD. Any feedback, advice is always welcome, thanks for looking! City Overview: Traffic Map: Eagerly waiting for highways to become unlocked. Screenshots: The first Elites move into Prahaslav. A few Executive waterfront condos. Department of Water Something or other :-) A few Executive Apartment buildings up near the high-tech industry park.

Prahaslav Update #2 Population: 38,000 Funds: $7,000,000+ Profit: ~$65,000/mo. Prahaslav is growing, it has now reached 38,000 inhabitants with the construction of several medium density skilled workers area's. Prahaslav has also welcomed it's first Executives to the city. High Tech Industry has also started to develop in Prahaslav, as the Wealth of the City grows, Industry is transitioning away from Dirty technologies to more profitable manufacturing and High Tech. Several transit network improvements have been made including the addition of parallel avenues each going one way in order to keep the flow of traffic manageable. The next goal is to reach 50,000 people and hopefully unlock a few new density levels! City Overview: Transit Map: Screenshots: Prahaslav's first 4-star business hotel! The view at night from the top floor of the new Hotel! A view of the High Tech area near the mountains. A glimpse of how the Executives spend their weekends.

Prahaslav - Population 10,000 Here is my first crack at a CJ, playing one of the Valley Maps in CXL Right now the city has a population of 10,000 people all on the north bank of the river which bisects the map. City Overview: City Plan: The plan for the city is to build a supporting region on the north bank, comprising of a large farming area to the east, and a bunch of offices lineing main street. Industry, mostly manufacturing will be up in the North West. Transit Map: This is an up to date transit map of the road network of Prahaslav. Screen Shots: A shot of main streen in the old main town. Sun rising over the farms in the distance revealing the suburbs. More to come...

Unemployement with High R$, R$$, R$$$ Demand
Reusty2k5 replied to Reusty2k5's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Thanks for the reply BlackStar, I have a pretty good Bus network, but seeing as how my city has more R$$ and R$$$ than R$, I think that system is probably under utilized. What sort of rapid transit would you recommend? Thanks! -
Unemployement with High R$, R$$, R$$$ Demand
Reusty2k5 replied to Reusty2k5's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
I'm not sure that makes sense. R$ is driven by C and I, I still don't understand how I could have unemployment and high R$ demand unless the unemployment I'm seeing is R$$ and R$$$ only. If that's the case then I need more CO$$/CO$$$, but I still need more R$ to satisfy the demand. -

I'm not sure I understand why I need to create more jobs to solve unemployment, when I have a huge demand for R$ based on the jobs available now? -

I'm looking for a little help, I have a simple region with 3 city's (from left to right a CBD, residential city, industrial city). My residential city has had a lot of unemployment (suitcase zots) for a few years now, but according to the census report I have high demand for all income levels. I've attached some screen shots of the census for each city. I'm pretty sure it isnt a traffic problem as all of my cities are full green (I'm running NAM ultra Z). From SimCity From SimCity From SimCity From SimCity If anyone has any ideas I'd really appreciate it! Thanks! -
Can you send a picture of your city, maybe we can get a better idea of whats going on.
