Archania Island was created from a sketch I drew a while back. It is inspired partly by the Hawaiian island of Oahu, as such I have copied some elements of it. To the north and west, large plains are available to build cities on, while the rest of the island is covered by mountains, hills, valleys, and coasts. Plenty of prime beach locations are available, and the water gently slopes outward to sea, presenting some nice opportunities for reefs. The plains gradually slope upwards as you get further inland, although at a very gentle grade so that construction will not be impeded. The map is 6x8 large city tiles, providing a total of 48 large cities. This map has a variety of features to keep you interested and presents a wide scope of skill to build on, from beginners to mountain building experts. Feel free to use this in your city journals or modify it, just provide me credit -
Many Canadians fear third world war looms

I think the difference in a Third World war, if there will be one, is that it will probably be catalyzed largely in part by third world countrys or developing countries such as China. -
Is there a mod for an ordinace to ban women drivers?
blueflame13 replied to Mayor Dale's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Calm down. It's a joke. Who care's if it's offensive, as anyone with a sense of humor can see it's a joke. Jeez... -
I live in eastern Idaho and ya the temperatures here have been in the 90s or 100s almost the whole summer.

I'm glad they banned it in public places, but banning it in your own home? That's stupid. The government doesn't, and shouldn't have a right to decide whether you wish to practice unhealthy habits in your own home. No one should have that right except for the person doing it. If they want to get long cancer and die from the confines of there house, so be it. No one should tell them otherwise.

I think that America's drinking laws are stupid. I was over in France a few weeks ago, and it was awesome. They don't even check you're ID over there. The only good reason our drinking age is 21 is because you can drive when your 16 (15 where in the state I live in.) But with many people depending on teenagers to drive and with many of them working 40+ hour weeks, they will never lower it. Not a bad thing though, I love driving!

Bookworm the problem with what they are doing is that they are changing how the whole game plays. I don't care if it is called Simcity or if it will be a good game, It's not the type of Simcity I want to play. I want to build a realistic and attractive city and deal with more of the engineering aspects rather then making a loony town full of clowns and managing my society energies. What a load of crap. Societal energys? Come on. The problem is that they are trying to appeal to The Sims fans. (Note that I think the Sims is a fun game as well, I own it.) But if I wanted to play The Sims, I would go play The Sims.

Sign me up! I've seen to many great games go down the drain because the developers wanted to try something new or didn't really care about the product, just being able to sell the game because it has a brand name. Think of Railroad Tycoon 3. Another great game which got worse from the original was the Stronghold Series. Stronghold 1 was a fun and enjoyable game but Stronghold 2 and 3 sucked. It seems to me that sometimes when games try to go from 2D to 3D they really screw the game over by changing the whole way the game plays.

Hey njdevi66, what terrain mod are you using? Those textures are kind of what I'm looking for.

Really? You people would rather be packed like cattle in to some small apartment in a highrise? The idea sounds disgusting to me. I live in the suburbs and god I love it. The fact that living packed next to people and not having your own space or your own yard sucks. I love my yard. You know what, who cares if Wal-mart gets rid of smaller businesses. Get with the times. Superstores offer a great selection and you know what there going to have there, and it wont be some cheap homemade crap. But then again I'm just some ignorant American who drives a gas-gussling pickup truck. By the way, I love my truck.

Columbus Terrain reverts to Maxis terrain.
blueflame13 replied to blueflame13's topic in SC4 Bugs & Technical Issues
Does anyone know of a way to stop this from happening. It's really getting me pissed off. If there isn't, anyone with some modding knowledge willing to make a fix for it, if possible? -
Columbus Terrain reverts to Maxis terrain.
blueflame13 replied to blueflame13's topic in SC4 Bugs & Technical Issues
Yes, It does look very annyoing. But it never happened to me before, so its odd. Does the Olympic terrain mod do the same thing, I might switch over if I can't fix it.
