Use a resolution you monitor is capable of displaying. Start the game at least once with the shortcut to initiate the custom resolution.quote> Thank you, I was using wrong syntax on the shortcut code I had. What you gave me solved the problem.
  4. Hello everyone I've been browsing the forums and stex for ages but I've never been inclined to post. I upgraded my old video card (an Nvidia Geforce7900) to a new one (Nvidia Geforce 9800) and installed all the drivers. Every single game and program runs fine at any resolution, but simcity 4 will not come out of its windowbox. I've run it in compatability mode, tried the shortcut command to set resolution, ran it as administrator and tried to change the resolution again, and tried to force the resolution from my video card control panel. Nothing has worked, and it's absolutely annoying. Before anyone blames the operating system, because windows 7 is fairly new, Simcity 4 ran with absolutely no problem with my old video card on this operating system. I didn't have to execute any strange shortcut commands or mod anything, everything just worked. Here is a picture of the problem: As you can see, its just boxing itself in a 1280x1024 resolution within my 1680x1050 screen. Here are the specs to my current video card: If anyone has any ideas on how to fix this problem, it'd be greatly appreciated.
