  2. Eternal commuters and how to beat them?

    Its an interesting post here so im very interested about that cuz im experience this problem and cant figure it out. If i understand well u conect the roas from the E to w and rail from N to S. But isnt unrealistical? I'll hope that others will come with ideas cause im sure that many people are facing this problem about eternal commters.

    Something that i notested is that the census vault from C city is telling me that 600 k people are commuting to C but i dont see them. This is another question. So this could be eternal comuters? Cuz iti quiet strage having in mind that my overall population is 778k and 60% from the jobs arent in C area. And how could i stop this? Corner linking is involving subway too?

    Maybe u are right but they are not connected in corners cuz i read about this and tried to avoid corner linking. The 1st conection is made atleast at 1/3 of the city length.
  5. Some help need it for this sutuation i just cant figure that out. I have this City that i want to build on 8 squares(city from Sc4). They look like this: __________________________________ I I I I I I I I I I A I B I I I I I I I I________________I_________________I I I I I I I H I C I I I I I ________ I______________ I___________ I I I I I I I I F I E I D I___________I I I I I I G I I I I _________I_ _____________ I___________I The city are linked between them by avenue, highway, monorail, rail and sub. So A and F zones are ID&IF areas with 98k jobs and 75K jobs, B&G areas with 45k and 16k IHT jobs. H,C,D and E are mostly residential al toghether 778k residents. At this point D has 562k residential and 93 k comercial jobs(mostly services) and C has 137k residents and 376k comercial jobs(mostly offices). As i read and i find queiet realistyc that somewhere near the 60% are working resident that means that From D area about 337k res are working and from C 82k are working. I used this 1 cuz are the most important areas for residents from my hole city. So here comes my question about the workers comuters: From D i have 60% of resident working(337K with averege IQ190) about 100K are going to C, 8k are going to E(some iht jobs and comercial service) 50K are going to F and 93K are working in D(comercial services and some IHT) and to G just not more than than 3K(even if there are 15K IHT jobs). So what happens with the left 83K working residence? I cant find them anywhere with the route query to the exits from the D city? Now C area. There i have 82.2K(60%) working residence. and this C area is suround it by A, B, D areas with all toghether with 236K jobs + 376 k jobs in C. But my residential buildings dont develop all are negative. Why is that? Cuz form D to C are commiong around 100 k people bu they dont get to A or B so i suposed that they work in C So overall my area has 778K residents(60% working force-466k) and total jobs are 713k so that means that a have a deficit of 247 working force that i wanted to be in C area, but cant cuz residents demand is negative. Pls give me some ideas about solving this. The Caps for R$, R$$, and R$$$ are: 10%, 8% and 10%.

    Yes Sam i do agree with u but my region has about 65k people so the building from the comercial area most of them are repeating. This is why i was interesed about this thing.

    I read some posts about this topic here on Simtropolis but stil im not satisfied about it. So my question is like this.Is there a relation bettwen the number of people transiting a type of road(to be read as street, road avenue, etc) and the customer demand? I read the cam manual and seen that avenue is suporting 10000 people, but i have some avenues with 20k people but stil low customer demand for comercial so im quiet intrigued about that. Is it influenced by all kind of trafic or just by the pedestrian one? So any links, comments(very clear ones) are wellcome.

    So it seems that SC4toll is the answer for it. I was trying to avoid this cuz im playng only for about 3 weeks and dindt want to get sc4tool yet. If there isnt any answer for me yet then SC4Tool wiil be.

    I hope this is the right place to post this. Does any1 can help me with some info for the comercial buildings of maxis in game? Im interested of what building grows on what density, how nuch tiles to be layes for a particular building etc? i looke over the forum and couldnt find anything, so some help will be apreciated. THX.

    they look grate. But i think i descovered a problem. When i hover with the transport query over it the game crushes. i tried severel times and happend the same. Let me know if any1 experienced the same problem.
