I have indeed tried to import and it works, i get the fresh, non-touched terraformed city just as it is; not a blank spot. The original files remain in their original folders, i just copy pasted to experiment . This is really odd ... i can't understand why only "new city" files can be imported and the others nada..

I AM having trouble importing some previous cities in my new region. Problem is they don't show up in the import browser ; strangely only the "virgin" cities show up (this meaning the ones i dint start yet like "new city 1 " or whatever) so the whole situation is completely upside down for me ) . Anyone have a hint why i cant see them ? I tried moving them in the downloads folder from my documents .. no luck though... and yes, the cities are the correct size (because all grids in the new region are LARGE) .
