  1. I would fault TM though. They did not have to accept the offer. Instead of thinking about the short-term wad of money, they should have thought about their long-term credibilty as well as their ability to make credible/trustworthy games in the future. Any smart business would have goals such as that. If EA did approach with a 6 month time frame (which I think they did), then TM should have politely refused. They knew what was coming when they were making SCS (crashes, lack of depth, etc.) Judging by game and customer reviews, their credility has been shot to heck. I say that b/c Simcity is (was, anyway) such a top franchise and they and EA butchered it. Anyway, here's looking at Monte Cristo.... And it is very funny (but not surprising) that Simcity 4 currently and will outsell SCS. At least to me, SCS raised the value of SC4. I guess rapid word-of-mouth was better than TM or EA realized. EA, nothing to lose, at least not for awhile. TM, start packing.
  2. In my commercial cities, the simulator keeps on picking the same type of building. I have so many different type of buildings yet it does this. How do I get more variation in the building choices, without plopping?
  3. How do you feel about the SCS announcement?

I too will be disappointed if it is just square roads. And you're probably right, expansion packs will probably be added. I was flat out against it for awhile like nearly all of the people here. But you and some others brought up some great points: 1. Sims actually interacting w/the buildings. The sims didn't know the difference between a Piggly Wiggly and a World's Gym. In Simcity4 I put low-density mansions right next to skyscrapers. That's not to terribly realistic. 2. Custon content - if they do have this it would be great. I would have stopped simcity4 a long time ago if it wasn't for this. 3. Pollution - having a residential city right next to a dirty industrial city and no impact? Not realistic. 4. Revive the series - people who play SCS (i.e. kids) will likely buy the other versions of the series. 5. Deleting candyland stuff - and delete it I will. I put that stuff in my theme parks in Roller Coaster tycoon. Like most people on Simtropolis, I am a hardcore fan of the series; but I am willing to give it a chance. It may actually be good. Based on the new screenshots, it looks like they have power plants. That I was glad to see. I also read they have subway as well. The option of customizing is what I will base my decision on to play it continually.
