Also, if you have power coming into your buying city from more than one source you may need to double check to make sure the power lines coming into your buying city are in direct contact with your city zones, with multiple power lines on the map it can get confusing and it's easy to accidentally be hooked into the wrong lines or have an otherwise faulty connection. Good Luck.quote> I have got one windmill and one water tower! Spooky. Well, I'll try getting rid of the windmill and see what happens! Edited to add: I demolished the solitary windmill, waited until the month finished, then was able to initiate a deal. Problem solved, or so I thought. This deal eventually reached its limit and I was unable to increase the amount of power. I got around this new problem by cancelling my power deal for a month, which then made an improved deal available. I have to say it's still a pain in the arse but at least it's manageable (just). My only fear is that one time I'll try it and the whole city will evacuate in the space of a month!

Right. I'm playing a region with several cities. So far I've been able to make neighbour deals completely normally and with no problems. So imagine my surprise when my planned main city had a problem with electricity! They're all connected up and I've double-checked that and added extra connections to make sure. Still there is a problem. There are three large cities. Going from left to right there is my dirty industrial city, my main city, then a city with a load of farms. My industrial city has a couple of coal plants and an incinerator and is producing way more power than it uses. It can sell to other neighbouring cities. It is connected to my main city. My farming city also now has a gas plant, has far more power than it needs and can sell power to other neighbouring cities. But the game doesn't give me an option for the main city to buy from either neighbour. It can do water and garbage but not power. It's actually really annoying as it's scuppered my plans. Can anyone tell my what I can do about it? Is there some way of forcing the game to make deals available?

Bit of background first: I've just ordered SC4Deluxe and up to now have only played normal SC4 without Rush Hour. I know that SC4 is notorious for hanging up randomly and I experienced this myself. My pc is running XP with a AMDAthlon 64 X2 Dual Core 3800, 2gb RAM and Nvidea GForce 6600 (128mb I think). Does the Rush Hour expansion help with stability? What are the recommended graphics settings? Are there any patches I need? Would I get any real benefits from upgrading my graphics card? Sorry for the *****ishness but I'd appreciate some advice from real players rather than the EA site! I've also already downloaded the April 08 NAM, as judging by what people say here it's pretty much essential. Thanks

I think the point is that they bring in better commerce, not just more. So if you want to see some skyscrapers be prepared to build a big airport.
