Or I can remove it, which I guess is the only option. I often play either the SC music or my onboard music while playing.

I don't mind sounds, but the jackhammer for Deep Blue from CSX is FAR TOO LOUD. lol Anyone know if it can be shut off? I've turned sounds off ingame, but no change. It doesn't even turn down with the game volume. Anyone?

Dear Sim Dieties! Holy freaking crap! Do I have to upgrade to a Cray4000 or what? Should I call the electric company and have an industrial style distribution box installed soon? I'm guessing at least 2core CPU and GHZ speed video capability for anything more than base visuals? Anyplace with expected minimum and suggested hardware? I'm otherwise impressed beyond words at what's here and what I've seen on the Cities site. Finally, a game that may well be able to get me off SC4. Not that I want weaned off SC4, I love the game, but I've always wondered what it would take to get me to stop playing it...

Yes, thanks for the new link. I've kept the file over the years myself, amazingly. If the current download vanishes, email me at duradan428@hotmail.com and I'll email the file to anyone who asks for it. It's tiny, just 280KB, so even AOL users and other limiting email systems can get it. I've had most of my downloads on a redundant raid array since I got them years ago, but came back to see if anything was still happening with the sites, and lo and behold, it's still quite active! Nice. So I'm grabbing a crap load of new stuff. Wish I had the ability to create these things so I could give back somehow, but oh well. I guess making the .dll available is about all I can do. I've noticed the STEX is quite slow lately, and the forums seem bogged down too. Anything that can be done to help it out? Aggravating speeds.

Yeah, just to bump this, since I again needed to look it up. To summarize, right-click the desktop shortcut, go to properties, then change the end of the target after the last " mark. There add one of the below. -intro:off -w -r800x600x32 If you want to get rid of the movies and run it in window mode in 800x600 -intro:off -w -r1024x768x32 is what I use Then right-click that shortcut again after saving the changes, and copy it so you have another shortcut, then change after the last " in the new shortcut to -intro:off -f -r1024x768x32 so that you can have a shortcut that will go fullscreen if you want to go back to that easily. My most used shortcut has this in it's target "C:\Program Files\Maxis\SimCity 4 Deluxe\Apps\SimCity 4.exe" -intro:off -w -r1024x768x32 Nods to all who started and added to this one.
