You always increase the taxes for I-D because their desirability will be higher than all the others, and will develop first.

Originally posted by: Dizastrow Well, I would have to say that SC4 is awesome compared to previous versions I have owned. I started out with SimCity for SNES!! LOL Then the I got SC2K for Playstation, which I played to death Then I got SimCity DS and it sucked!!! The building are all the same height!!! Question!!! How do you turn off the advisor pop-ups for SC4?? Im sick of them constantly popping up!!quote> True! I couldn't say anymore! Simcity DS really pulled down the promise of the series on DS. I mean, what rot with the ABSOLUTE need for Industrial and then the citizens hate you for it! Also, the little minigames didn't really help. I've heard that the second DS game has much more promise than this! Anyway, to answer the question. SC4. No question.

OMFG! Great! I wish i could do something like that! Overal brilliance! I NEED To HAvE It! Lol. Nah, not really. Great city. Things like that NEED to be done on SC4

So what does everyone think of simcity creator on the wii? To those of you who have, what do you think? If you forget to give water to your buildings, you're for a spot of bother. That's right, a trick to density is WATER! Quote- "Buildings cannot reach their maximum density without water", in relation to another post. Once you really get it going, the night view over the water is just breath-taking, though i find the progress slower and softer. The hero buildings add an absolutely new aspect to this game. A city made out of candy? A city made out of gold? Historical? Stylish? Depending on what buildings you place and where, your city will take on a completely new style! I know i'm acting like an advertisement, but this new simcity is worth a try. Have a go, or at least research it. Like i said, the view is just spectacular at night. Please don't use all bold for a reply. tungston

Creator is OK. It just won't match up for hardcore city simulation players though.quote>I actually agree

Also, Simcity Creator is also out on DS, but it acts much more like simcity creator on the wii, taking a new rope. You have to achieve certain requirements as you work through different periods in time.

Okay, This is High_Riser, asking all of you out there to tell me your best population on a small, medium and large lot in SC4. This so that i can compare to my cities and so that you guys can show off how much better you are. Anyway, fire away! Here are my best populations (rounded to the nearest 10,000) On a small lot - 140,000 people. On a medium lot- 220,000 people On a large lot - 980,000 people. (Note: A large lot is four times bigger than a medium lot, and a medium lot is four times bigger than a small lot, so if you want to compare small lots to med/large lots, times it by 4 for med lots and times it by 16 if you want to see your large lot pop.) e.g 140,000 on a small lot, x 4 to compare to med lot, get 560,000 pop. Then, 560,000 x 4 for large lot. 2,240,000. That's a pretty dense city! Lucky me. Anyway, thx in advance for your reply. HIGH_RISER, OUT

(NOTE!!! My copy of SC4RH is currently unaccessable! I will need to edit this later for names!)For now, easy reference calls for, THE CANYON) This is a CJ on the Canyon, founded by the famous explorer, Roy Lancalan. Since then, it has become a fruitful establishment. Read on.... (Updated to LVL 0) ____________________________________________________________________________ Over a period of 500 years, the Mint State metropolis thrived. But over the years, some wished for a simpler life. Roy Lancalan, one of these people, had access to vast resources and loyal crew, and so sailed off for greener pastures. He settled down in a canyon, after a scout on the top of his boat saw the lush soil and fertile fields of The Canyon. Since there was no record of any previous or current population, Roy's ship settled down on a small, eastern coast, and travelled along the western plains to reach his founding community *unknown*. This community became the residential center of The Canyon, housing the largest amount of citizens yet. But, like all starting communities, they needed to expand. Roy's few trusted friends and comrades set out to find new lands. One founded the small community of 2,000, Linuis. A mainly agricultural area, dominated by the rapidly growing residential. There is not much commercial influence on the surrounding areas in The Canyon. The other founded a large state, mainly agricultural. This agricultural economy is the standing position for the entire Canyon population. However this Agricultural dominance is being quickly overtaken by the introduction of industrial factories. The last founded a small community of about 10,000 residents. High density residential buildings are littered heavily around this society. A small agricultural influence in this area, due to the introduction of the natural gas power plant, encouraging the beginnings of another industrial revolution in the area, in which most agricultural establishments will be driven out. The agricultural community brings large problems to the water system, bringing Green clamp-downs on polluted pumps. This resulted in the moving of all water systems away from the agricultural establishments. The constant moving as the farming community expanded carved greatly into his resources, slowing down the expansion of his community as a whole. Over on Roy Lancalan's large land establishment, the beginnings of a great society were just starting to settle and take root. However, Roy's arrogance was also beginning to come into play. Just as the community was beginning, a large palace for Roy's residence was ordered to be built. This was a 100,000 simoleon project and ate deeply into the cities resources, heavily stunting it's growth. The community was beginning to recover, when the commercial industry found it's footing and began to make a substantial influence on the community. Although this boosted the economy greatly in Roy's society, the Agricultural Industry was slowly slipping off the main development charts. Roy forsaw this in when a large amount of businesses moved into his society, and thereby ordered to have development Industrally on all three of the other communities halted until abandonment ensued. Whether or not this was a good decision remains to be seen. All percentages are approximate. Linuis- Residential- 48% Commercial- Below 4% Industrial- 2% or less Agricultural- 46% Turandal- Residential- 23% Commercial- 0% Industrial 27% Agricultural-50% [unknown] [unknown] etc. As Roy's founding societies continue to grow, S-I-C* Barth and Daniel take to the lead to help expand the community. Barth and Daniel slowly explore the surrounding territories to see what they will find... CJ- To Be Continued.

Well, i've only just started, so it's not really worth any pictures yet. Sorry, didn't notice the CJ section. I'll do it there in the future Thx.

Is it possible to store your regions elsewhere?
High_Riser replied to SeeSpotSplat's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Well, if you get a USB stick and have SC4 installed on both computers, you might be able to work something out. (Make sure you download the same buildings on both computers, otherwise something might not work.) -
Actually, they do have SOME good buildings, but most of them are crap. Depends if you can be bothered to find the good ones.

Sure, I'll join up. What time in Sydney?Anyway, good luck if i don't make it WHAT? YOU WANT MY CHICKEN? -
Just great wishfulanthony. I love all the downloads you have in the pics. Can you send me the roundabout? Anyway, it's a great CJ, and even though you say you don't deserve greatness for it, i certainly say you should get it. Molowaku Island. I like the prospect. Keep on trucking! HIGH_RISER, OUT

Well, i haven't seen any packs of Skyscrapers yet, so it looks like you're on the way to a good hunt. If you go to ea.com, there's a great exchange site there. Maybe you ought to check that one out.

Tricky choice. Like an early choice said, 3000 is easier, but it sucks if you don't increase the land value cause it looks crud. SC4 has better graphics, but it's much harder to get skyscrapers. SC4 is my favorite, because in the end, the satisfaction of building a great city comes through.

I downloaded a building once that went off the top of the screen when placed in the center of the map. Of course, whether or not that actually is the tallest building remains to be seen.

Farming/agriculture lots question
High_Riser replied to acec's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
To tell you the truth, it's probably the amount of pop./farms that's stunting development. Most farms don't like to develop under pressure from a growing city. Maybe expand your farms to the other edge of the city to split the development. Also, no more than three roads can be wrapped around a farm, so try to decrease congestion if you have any.
