I think the farms should stay! I would be inclined to develop the unused land around the lake, with an expansion of the commercial district planned for the city side, which would be surrounded by parkland. but first sprawling residential around the lakewood circle road. An industrial development could be planned for highway 12, with a new rail station supporting it. Also, can we clean up the lake? when i was a young fella, i used to swim every day, but the farms have polluted the water in recent years.

Don't forget to build lots of parks! wealthy sims love them -
connected cities are all good, But i would really like to see regional effects for buildings such as universities, airports, seaports. anything which in real life has a wide area of effect. Who wants to build a university in every city?

That's tough... My best guess is central europe, specifically the czech republic, slovenia and hungary. The farmland looks similar and it's the only place i've seen that has straight buildings even remotely like that
