Im sure this has been covered before. Can you hold odwn CTRL and make more visibly appealing farms other than Pumpkin Acres? If so, what sizes can you make? Thanks

buy a new copy, thats what I had to do. Its not worth the run around when you can just simply spend minimal money to buy a new copy.

Thank you all for the suggestions. i will download the SPAM tonight.

Ive tried this multiple times and cant get it to work. I think ive tried every possible variation. Would someone be willing to do a scenario on what EXACTLY to do to get this cheat to work?? Thanks

I only use streets in my residential, urban areas. Then roads are used to connect busier areas to commerce and industry, then avenues as main thoroughfares for traffic. I like using highways too, but usually only to link up city tiles.

I cant figure out how to post a pic.

One thing that has always worked for me is never giving my sims a service, schools, healthcare, police, until they are practically screaming at me for it. When I finally fullfill the need, growth usually booms in stages.

Issues with Retaining Low Wealth Res
Dizastrow replied to just20706's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
I usually always utilize the "make historical" feature. It is time consuming, but has allowed me to maintain a nice balance of all types of RCI in all of my cities. -
I like making city tiles that have nothing but a highway going thru them. Still, I will usually build an offramp and another short road with a wayside park, playground, and maybe a couple of small businesses. Then I like to name them Junction 9, 10, etc.

To Cheat or Not to Cheat: That is the Question
Dizastrow replied to brandonwainscott's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
I actually have so little time to play that I cant afford to fuss around with water and power, and sometimes money. -
Do you have a lot of parks, green space, plazas, etc? If so, a lot of them can be expensive to keep up. Try eliminating some. You might have to take out a loan, but keep building residential. You might have to downsize your city too. If your taxes are that high it scares people away. Lower your taxes and try and even things out.

Your Favorite and Least Favorite things about SC4.
Dizastrow replied to Wheezy's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
My favorite thing about SimCity in general is the years and years of entertainment it has given me. The thing I hate about it is never finding enough time to play. -
What are the benefits of having a city hall
Dizastrow replied to clarelvsroxy's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
I wish my sims would riot and protest outside of the city hall. Then I could call myself a bad mayor. -
Yes, when I leave the game in region view, and go and check my email or something, when I return there is extensive cloud cover. Good idea to shut it off.

Whatever you do, make sure you incorporate bus stops into your cities. This helps with traffic no matter what.

Growing a city and connecting cities
Dizastrow replied to pata nahi's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
And I, on the other hand, can't remember the last time I actually used a landmark. To each, his own. I'm not sure, but I believe he meant the "Make Historical" feature (which prevents an RCI structure from being replaced by another one automatically) Yes, I meant the "Make Historical" feature. Thanks LOL -
No city is square- so why build square

Growing a city and connecting cities
Dizastrow replied to pata nahi's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
I have had success with offering every type of demand in every city, as long as it calls for it. I utilize the "Make Landmark" feature a lot. My neighborhoods, business centers, and industrial areas contain all three levels of wealth jobs. Doing this, I have managed to control demand effectively and every city in my regions prosper, whether small or huge. -
How on earth do I build a city...
Dizastrow replied to Newb who cant build cities's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
The most important thing I have learned after years and years of playing every version is do not give them darn sims anything until they ask for it, and even then, make em wait a few years. -
Spread things out. Make forests and open grassy areas. There are alot of cool things in the STEX that you can download too. Like, for my farming communities, I make the farms irregular shapes and seperate them will irregular shaped forests. In urban settings, space out buildings, use parks, green space. Always try and shy away from squares, except when building downtowns and large urban residential areas. Leave tiles in your region empty, except for forests, rivers, lakes, etc. It will give you region a more realistic look.

Keeping the rich seperated from the poor.
Dizastrow replied to bowserchomp's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
If you are working with individual neighborhoods, it can get tedious, but I use the make historical button on my slum buildings. That way it will stay R$ -
Any help would be appreciated. Is there a set amount of Manufacturing jobs you need before Cargo containers show up in your seaports. I always build my seaports, but there is never anything being transported onto ships or any containers in the docking area. I see in others pictures that the seaports are bustling and each has several containers on the dock and boats. Thank you

Nonny Moose? Where is the lot editor page and what do I need to do to get these textures you speak of? Could it be that I use the 'fightthepower" cheat that the crates are not showing up?

Television - A historical retrospective
Dizastrow replied to A Nonny Moose's topic in General Off-Topic
I avoid news because its depressing. Reality television is all garbage. If I had my way, there would be 4 channels, Turner Classic Movies, History Channel, Discovery, and ESPN. -
