This is my first visit here, I'm on page 8, so I'll try not to gush... but this is excellent! I love it - makes me want to drink some wine and nibble on olives or something. I love the focus effects of the shots and the tourist guide section is brilliant. Great job! I admire players who use all custom content. There wasn't this much available when I made my region, and it seems like my cities fill up with only 25% of the new bats I download and never use the rest.

Hi - I'm new to your CJ, but I want you to know that I admire your skill at replicating North American development patterns. Excellent work with Regina, and I liked the rail yard in Trenton - I've never seen anyone feature something like that and I thought it was pretty cool. The last update was beautiful; you've really done an excellent job expressing urban, suburban and rural development patterns in your region.

For grins, I decided to try to fix two problems: One, I tried again to get some shops, instead of ugly brown office towers in New Wellington. This time, it worked! Second, I not only turned off the grid for The Pinnacle, but I added a lava rock mod. It's better, but still no Starbucks! It's so hard to pick out rocks...

Okay, I just started reading this CJ (on page 4, but I need to comment now), and I have to say it is both very unique and very beautiful. I'm quite impressed with how you've captured the different personalities of various places like Paris and Venice - but the Proveçal hill village is simply amazing and awesome... truly one of the best SimCity creations I've seen on here. It's one thing to create a thoroughly planned metropolis, but quaint villages can be tricky and you did it wonderfully. I thought my DVD drive would open up and serve me with a bowl of bouillabaisse or something. [Edit] Okay, I ran across a post where I was here before (), but I definitely do not remember seeing the French village. Everything is beautiful...

Twenty20, Petrovar Ambassador and Selles - Thank you very much for the comments! Today, I'm going to finish the tour of both Milton and the Nalsa Islands. We'll be heading to Milton's North Shore and to the west, and ending up out of town at the farthest point in the Nalsa Islands, The Pinnacle. (oops, shouda turned the grid off... )

Schulmanator: thanks for the comment! Here are some more pictures from Milton: This is one of my favourite setttings for a suburban community. I hate that the town centre is ugly Maxis office buildings instead of some of the Aussie or English shops I've loaded up. I try bulldozing and redeveloping, but this is what I get. Even city planners are sometimes subject to whims of the real estate market...

Update Today I'm going to begin a three-part "miniseries" on the last part of the Nalsa Islands that I haven't shown much of yet: Milton. Milton may be my favourite SimCity creation. It's not got the natural beauty of Jaqulina's creations nor the cool architecture of the spectacular cities I see here on Simtropolis, but among all of its repetitive buildings, Milton has a very unique city structure that was a lot of fun to build and a cool place to build a city. Milton is inspired by some of my favourite cities: it's laid out a lot like Wellington, NZ with a touch of San Francisco, CA; has the personality of Seattle, WA; and plays second fiddle to another, slightly larger, city like Melbourne, Vic. So, without further ado, I present Milton (part 1 of 3):

The bid for Chihiro is looking good - I didn't realise how modern the Olympic area and CBD look compared to the more traditional area where the AIN summit was held. It's a very nice and interesting contrast!

Awesome mosaics - I love the use of the tram in the boulevards. The locales have a very Dublin/London type feel to them. Excellent work!

I really like the way you do your parks.The construction sites are excellent too - it's interesting to see some "under construction" photos where we we see equipment and a construction site. I liked your solution for the rail crossing - creative.

That was a beautiful update, Jacky. I've never seen a CJ with such an awesome showcase of nature. The moon reflection was an especially nice touch.
