Why don't you start small? I hate how graphics is the most important feature of a game. Anyways, to get this project off the ground, don't shoot for the stars but maybe just build a pop rocket and go from there. You have to make sure your physics, and everything is correct (for example, your sims taking the highway instead of sidestreets), and worry about graphics when you start to make some return on this investment. Is there a website dedicated to developers? idealists and theorists? testers? etc?
