Sometimes a naval base includes a naval yard to repaiir the ships. This brings in a lot of support industry. Looking Good!!
  8. I work at our local airport and met some fellows returning to Melbourne from vacation. They confirned your title: Worlds most livable City. Friendly blokes they were.

  15. Realism Project / Mod Development

The problem was months of discussion on which city to model, and as far as I can tell no effort to contact and coordinate those who volunteered to help.
  16. Turry Metro Region to Scale

Nice job; looks very realistic. I like your planning updates with proposed routes for new highways. My 400th post!
  17. Turry Metro Region to Scale

I like the region map you used. I have a city using it and it lends itself well what ever you want to create.
  18. superchad: thanks for the reply. It's a pretty region, and is developing nicely. I'm going to try and refrain from a lot of outward expansion for awhile and concentrate on more detail; though I'm not too good at refraining.
  19. Thanks. There are some great journals out there that have helped keep me motivated too.
  20. cityplanner82 Looking good, I like the newspaper concept of city journals, it adds a sense of realism to these cities. Keep it up, looking forward to more updates. btw, i also like the map, very cool!!! Thanks. Some of the folks here do a much better job than I do but they inspire me to work harder at the jounals. Here are a few photo updates: With the completion of the Cross-town extension, several new office towers have been built as seen in this view of downtown Lexington. Federated Mines & Ore is one of the worlds largest mining companies, and is headquartered here in Lexington. Their offices are located in this unique building, along with many nationally known companies. The Esteys building, built by the famous organ manufacturing family, is one of the more attractive buildings in Lexington. To increase capacity and ease traffic congestion, Metro Station allows tracks to be elevated above street level. The terminal includes parking on the first two levels, and offices above the terminal concourse.
  21. Sacramento - Realistic City by Scotty

Actually Sacramento is a very nice place to live. Large enough to have plenty of things to do, easy to get around in (compared to most cities it's size) and it is about an hour and a half from both South Lake Tahoe and San Francisco. Plus there is the Roseville Auction!
  22. Sorry for the lack of update but I've been busy over the holidays. Here is a quick look at Alpine Region's main city, Lexington. You can see the growth eastward and to the south.
