RHF: Thanks for a great cj, and an even bigger thanks for all your great support with Casa Grande. Your posts have been a continuing encouragement to me. (he said, choking back tears)

Welcome to Simtropolis! You'll enjoy it here.
-
A cd of your creations would be popular also. If you keep this up I'm going to have to upgrade my hard drive!!
-
Just checked your cj out and I thoroughly enjoyed the story line. It really does add a tremendous amount to the journal's presentation. I wish I could write a fraction as well as you. Sometimes there are things I want to explain in an update but putting it down on paper is elusive.

Very nice bobinator! I especially like the condo development and your great looking airport. I'm really enjoying your cj.

Yes, interesting story line and use of lots.
-
Love the detail and organic way you've arranged everything. Outstanding cj.
-
I like the airport, very creative!
-
Very nice city with a lot of interesting points of interest. I like the transit map also and the little pic that shows where a particular spot is located.
-
Yes, I second bobinator, your region is beautiful with all the farm land. Great job!
-
The terraforming and detail continue to humble me. It has challanged me to work on more detail in my cities.
-
By the way, I like all the close-up shots. Looks you have a good eye for detail.
-
I love that dam. It's something I've thought about a number of times but haven't pursued it. Maybe I'll try my hand. Great region.
-
I like the detail you've put into the region. Nice downtown also. Just about right for the region.

New Urbanism vs urban sprawl
rewright replied to UrbanLegend's topic in Architecture & Urban Planning
In the USA at least, most folks who shout the loudest would most likely not use public transportation even if it stopped at their door. American cities are not laid out for public transport, period, and haven't been since the 50's. There just are not enough people going from any one place to another. Unlike 50 years ago many of the services we use daily are no longer within walking distance from our homes so a simple bus trip to and from work just does not work. Come live here in Charleston, South Carlolina with only 600k, yet stretches 35 miles inland and twenty along the coast. Then add over 100k new single family homes currently being built or planned, and more in the works. -
Looks like you have your work cut out for you. Lots of opportunity for seaports there. Keep up the good work.
-
Hey bobinator, things are coming along great. You'll be at the mountains in no time.
-
Very nice reagional map. Lots of room for growth.

Wow, I like the oil refinery. Reminds me of one in the SF area I used to pass on I80.

Date: 3/9/2005 7:40:25 PM Author: RadioheadFan Thanks for all the comments guys. Artemis is moving just one more time before we get into his life actually moving forward..and by the way, some of you were right, Artemis will pay visits to MacArthur Inlet later on, although not to kill any happy robots or anything. Thanks for always commenting, there should be an update by Thursday. I know I promised yesterday, but I found a giant plot hole and had to rewrite a large part of the story. See you guys later. RHFquote> I sure do wish I had your writing ability. The city is looking very nice.

Hey bobinator, Sun Valley is really coming along! I've been out of the loop for a while and haven't been able to keep up with how you all are doing. Can't wait to see what else you have up your sleeve!!!
