  1. SC4 Terraformer Question

When I try to start SC4 Terraformer, I select the directory, and then nothing happens. The error log says something about division by a float. I remember getting this working before I re-installed Vista on my 64-bit PC.
  2. Random Restarts

Last summer the hard drive on our laptop got fried...I was on the internet...I clicked the "back" button and next thing you know I'm in the Blue Screen of Death. That one was less than 5 years - laptops are only designed to last 5 years though. But I think there was also a virus on that computer when it went, a few days before I'd ran a virus scan and found a Trojan on there. Nasty little thing.
  3. EXTREMELY slow download rates

Thanks for the input, but I'm pretty sure 1:30 AM isn't a peak hour (that was last night), Even in Europe it would still be early morning (about 6 or 7 am). And this isn't the first time I've used this site. I used this site on 2 previous computers (both running XP) and I never had this problem before. If it was something that happened on all 3 then is would be understandable that that the server caused it. I fully appreciate the fact that the site is free, but if I can't download something at 1:30 am (or if at 8:45 am) on Thursday morning, then something is definitely wrong.
  4. Random Restarts

I haven't had any expierences with free security software, (well actually one, but it turned out to be a virus itself...), but my guess is that is probably no near as effective as programs such as Norton or Webroot that you must pay for. Viruses can be very tricky things, and the security software might not be able to take care of it, you might have to get your hard drive reformatted to be rid of it (or them) permanentely.
  5. Whenever I download anything from the STEX, the dowload rate is extremely slow, averaging 3kBs and as slow as 300 bytes a second. This is new problem considering on my old computer this never happened. The computer I'm is running a 64-bit version of Windows Vista. I would think it might have something to with security settings, but I have no idea how to fix this. I'm downloading a file right now that is 2.18 MB and won't be finished for another 30 min (1.34 kBs) For other site the average download rate is 32.5 kBs.
