  1. Blue Haven

    very nice map, good job
  2. Building a tram rail

to place the GLR over roads rails and such you need to click on the ploppable piece and press Tab to cycle through the pieces, and press home to rotate the pieces, hope this solves your problem good luck also, you can press tab with all the other new ploppable pieces the NAM gives you
  3. Number of Buses on my roads

ok, thanks for all the help,I really appreciate it
  4. Number of Buses on my roads

Ok thanks for the reply , so the sims just transform into the transportation they use, So while using Simulator Z, there really is no benefit of a sim using buses over cars, as it would seem they both add to congestion and both add pollution. Does anyone know if the buses produce less pollution?, I am using the clean air act, but i also stuffed a very large population in a small area whom only uses cars and buses and a bit of ground light rail. The level of pollution doesnt really bother me, I was more concerned about how realistic the pollution output of buses are, If they both produce the same amount of pollution I might be better off not using them and sticking to cars
  5. Hey I wasnt sure where to post this so if this topic belongs anywhere else please move it I have a question that has been bugging me for quite some time, I love to build small and large cities and trying to make them as realistic as possible (not placing subways at every corner, designated bus routes, ect...), always playing around with the mass transit options. A while ago I downloaded the NAM traffic Simulator Z (Low version) to add more realism to the game, I liked the idea that bus traffic produces pollution and adds to congestion, but when building large cities that rely heavily on bus transportation I saw quite a bit of aditional polution and congestion (which is alright depending on the city population) Im just wondering how the game calculates bus usage (how many buses are actually on the road), So I made an example below to show everyone what I meant In my above example, 6 sims work at the industry, and all of them need to use the buses to get to work (so 6 sims take the bus) Because they all work at the same tile (or a few tiles apart in a few cases, I was wondering if the game would understand this as 6 individual busses carrying one sim each or if the game would realise that they all work at the same area so only place one bus on the street with all 6 sims inside. This is of course a very small test, but I can see how it would impact a larger city, 100 buses carrying 5000 people instead of 5000 buses carrying one person each would make quite a large difference pollution wise ( im just using 50 sims per bus as an example, im sure that all cities have different bus capacities, but I estimate it between 40-70 people per bus) I know that not everyone works at the same location but I enjoy using the bus blocker to create realistic bus routes. Would the sims board and leave the same bus depending on the sims or would they take their own buses and go as far as they need to go? I think im rambling a bit but clarification would greatly help me understand the mechanics, but sadly I would think that they all take their own busses. Short version: 1. How many people can board a bus going to the same area (one same bus with multiple sims inside), do they all use seperate buses? 2.If 5000 people are using a bus (on the same straight road or bus route) how many buses do I really have on my roads? 5000? or the number of busses are dependant on where the sims go and where they get off? 3. This question should be asked to the NAM team but il post it in here anyways: Does every bus on my street produce X number of air pollution? or is air pollution determined by a multiplier?, so every 50 bus users would produce X pollution, and 25 bus users would only use half of X. I apologise for rambling and asking questions that could be hard to answer thanks for reading my jargon and thanks for any help you can provide Moving this to Modding - Transit Networks -CaptCity
