  1. Hello everyone! I'm new to this site as well as to the world of Simcity. Are there any patches that I have to download or any other software etc? Any advice that you can give a newcomer is appreciated.
  2. So, I downloaded Industry multiplier x4 and it went through the phase of high-rises being created to people needing jobs etc, and now I am in a situation where there is high-wealth residential demand, and negative IHT demand, BUT at the same time, i have my high-wealth residents who are out of jobs! Not only that more high-wealth buildings are popping up, resulting in more No jobs. So how can IHT be in low demand when there is so much high-wealth? Do they all want Manufacturing industry?? Here is the screenshot. And there are other high-wealth buildings that show no jobs. https://s286.photobucket.com/albums/ll113/Juilkca/?action=view&current=weirddemand.jpg
  3. NAM - Need help

Hey guys, I've been trying to figure out how to use NAM, but I've searched and I can't find any help. I posted in the other forum, but the guys just told me to view the readme file.... That doesn't help me much. Could you tell me how to get my sim to take not the most direct route but the way I want him/her to?
  4. I need help with confusing demand

Ok, so I zoned some dumping areas and let it run at cheetah speed, but soon, they abandoned the building....my beautiful buildings....I am not quite sure what to do....most of my sims education is high so....i'm not quite sure why...maybe i should build a university or something to get it higher?
  5. I need help with confusing demand

Hmm, maybe that's the problem! It's been alerting about the garbage problem...although I'm not sure how that's related to low IHT and high R-$$$ demand. I have Simgoober's waste to energy plant, but i dont' know how to use it....
  6. I need help with confusing demand

Yes, it is the Industry quadrupler mod. Ah! I really don't want to have to obliterate it because alot of my nice high-wealth rises like Cobb's Central Park are the ones who have no jobs and it took me a long time to get it grow!
  7. taxes

Why would anyone want it at all 0.00?
  8. Low-wealth Residential

Yeah, that will help. No water and education. I deal with high demand of R-$ constantly. Zone it as high density and you will get a good building pop up with couple thousand sims, granted you have a high enough R-$ demand.
  9. Latest NAM --> Pathfinding gone nuts?

It's actually true. Some of my sims (although not all) will take a crazy detour. For example, in the below example, my sim will leave his HOUSE and instead of taking the closest street (S) to work (W), he will take the farthest street (2S). AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA W AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA W 2S S 2S S RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR HOUSE
  10. haven't visited for ages - a few q's

Well, not to say that my computer is better than yours, but I have a AMD Athlon 2.4 Dual core with 1 gig of RAM, and SC4D runs really well. I think you can download B.A.T and view them before you play the game. Now that there are literally thousands of BATS and lots available, i have to organize them really well. Anyway, I am not sure where you can download the B.A.T. Hopefully, someone responds to this and helps you out further.
  11. Hey guys, I have built a highway for my sims and most of them are not taking it. Instead they are taking the most direct route. For example, my sims will take the road to the next city even when the highway is right beside it! I have NAM installed and working, but it doesn't seem to help....
  12. My Sims won't take highway!

Err, can you give me an example?? A screenshot perhaps?
  13. Hey guys, I have had this problem for a while now. My R-$ demand is quite high as you can see in my pic, but I can't seem to get much R-$ because many of them just turn to R-$$ or few R-$$$, and this city has one museum and an elementary school that doesn't cover the whole city. I do have a neighboring city with the same problem. NO matter how many zones i place, not many R-$ grow... https://s286.photobucket.com/albums/ll113/Juilkca/?action=view&current=highlowresdemand.jpg Ah! I can't stand this....Maybe it's a glitch? IHT is at a LOW demand and just saw IHT pop up in my city. And my city is like 10 years old....although, I do have a neighboring city with people with high education. Could this be a factor? Anyway, if you could help me with the first question as well. Thanks in advance!
  14. My Sims won't take highway!

Ok, so two screenshots. First is the year i zoned it and second one is the year i stopped and still has not grown... https://s286.photobucket.com/albums/ll113/Juilkca/?action=view&current=highwayproblem.jpg https://s286.photobucket.com/albums/ll113/Juilkca/?action=view&current=highwayproblem2.jpg As you can see i had road connections and even water and the demand was there but it still didn't zone it...maybe there is something i am doing wrong...
  15. My Sims won't take highway!

Ok, I took your advice and built a highway with ramp leading to road and residential zone facing the road. I put the time on cheetah and let close to a year pass by and no residential buildings were popping up, meaning the game thinks there is no connection, or whatever the problem may be. What am i doing wrong or what could be the problem?
  16. Need Help with High R-$ demand!

What if i made a R-$ high density building a landmark? Would that help keep the R-$ sims in check? Oh and good advice about no education with coal plants etc...I placed some high density residential RIGHT BESIDE the dirty industry area, and believe me, you don't wanna live there due to the pollution, but even then, two huge R-$ high-rise buildings grew housing some 2500 sims each. So it DOES work, but it's true that the demand keeps increasing for R-$.
  17. Newcomer Here

LOL, true true. Uhh, while we are on the newbie topic....I wanted to ask whoever reads this what growth stages are related to RCI? I'd appreciate it
  18. Newcomer Here

I wouldn't say it's completely mindless. It involves more thinking and "work" than most games. There is planning and analyzing and reading of tutorials. My friend plays SC3000 because he says SC4 is too complex for his tastes. Anyway, if your a student and don't have much time, be careful you don't get addicted, because this game can really get addicting.
  19. BLaM St Felicity

Again, awesome awesome awesome. Keep up the good work!
  20. BLaM St Katherines Chapel

Beautiful! I want more buildings that look like this.
  21. Farms - What are they good for?

Hi Nell, I'm a newbie too, and I had the same issue, and even now i'm bothered by such high I-Ag demand. I was able to get to 17,000 pop ignoring the I-Ag demand. Others have told me to ignore them as well. They don't create Air pollution but the do create water pollution, so it's not a good idea to make them all in one area. I do have a neighboring "village" with several I-Ag. And yes, i don't like them because they don't create lots of jobs. Hopefully, some more experienced players can give you some tips. Have fun
  22. Hey guys, So, my city's population is about 17,000 right now. But my problem is that i have low demand for ALL commercial zones (please check picture). Then I have REALLY high demand for R-$ and still high demand for R-$$. I have a neighbouring city which is more a village with just I-Ag and C-$. Well, when i lay down for R-$ zones, some come to have no jobs. But then, I can't plop any commercial since there is low demand. And it doesn't seem like there is so much high demand for R-$ and R-$$ just to fill that little bit of demand for I-M. No matter how much residential i plop the demand does not decrease and since almost all areas are desirable for R-$$ i usually just get R-$$ and not R-$. If you could help me with this i'd really appreciate it. https://s286.photobucket.com/albums/ll113/Juilkca/?action=view&current=lowcommercial.jpg
  23. Asking help for a newbie

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I was able to finally get some IHT in my city, by building them near high desirability places with water and no pollution. I also built a next door city with lots of agriculture because the demand for agriculture was going through the roof. In regards to education, it takes a loooong time for them to be educated. It seems like 20 years since i started my city and only 1/4 of them have high education.
  24. SC4 Extra Cheats DLL

Ok, so I stumbled across, this site with so many BATS and Lots made by really skilled people. I would never be bored with the same buildings, I thought. But when you go down the path of using STEX BATs and Lots with little monthly fee or none at all, where does the challenge which leads to fun come from? For example, where is the fun in getting a $10,000 Microwave that produces 29999 power at $10/month? Isn't THAT cheating as well, principally speaking? I don't mean to flame the makers or users at all. It's just that I'm really tempted to use these but I'm trying to find a justifiable reason to use it, and I can't seem to find it, other than the fact that it looks different, pleasing to the eyes.
  25. Asking help for a newbie

Thanks for your reply. I found out that IHT desirability is around residential and commercial zones. But it's hard to plop them away from residential zones as that's where the high desirability is, and if I do it on a not so high desirability zone (even when it's just below highest desirability), it will just create manufacturing Industry, which is ok, but not what i want. Here's the pic: https://s286.photobucket.com/albums/ll113/Juilkca/?action=view&current=ihtdesirability.jpg https://s286.photobucket.com/albums/ll113/Juilkca/?action=view&current=ihtdes2.jpg Here's a more clear city overview: https://s286.photobucket.com/albums/ll113/Juilkca/?action=view&current=cityoverview2.jpg And here's the job and pop chart: https://s286.photobucket.com/albums/ll113/Juilkca/?action=view&current=jobsandpop.jpg As you can see from the overview of my city, I added a park and even then it created a manufacturing industry because the radius of the desirability was not high enough to make IHT. I made some just north of the highway, and IT DID create IHT, but i don't want to create it there because i want to put commercial and residential around that area. Instead, I want to create it near the west edge of my city... If my monthly income helps... https://s286.photobucket.com/albums/ll113/Juilkca/?action=view&current=income.jpg I started on easy with 500,000.
