  1. What is your favouite airport?

Siem Reap's Airport, Cambodia. The main terminal looks like a beach resort hotel! It's very small, quick to get through and not crowded at all. Perfect Worst: Heathrow (namely terminal 3, god how I hate having to walk for up to 1/2 an hour to get from the plane to immigration, then queue up for bloody ages because the UK and EU lanes have merged etc etc etc just a rubbish airport overall).

  7. Hey, I've had SC4 (hush hour) for years, and one thing has always bugged me. I have a UK copy of the game which means people drive on the correct (I mean left ) side of the road. However, all the street signs, highway overheads, traffic lights etc are positioned on the right side of the road. Is there a mod to fix this? One other thing, I just downloaded a pack of UK style overhead gantries for my highways. They look fantastic, but are somewhat spoilt because the in-game signs are over parts of the highway too (on the wrong side of the road as well, might I add). Is there a way, or a mod, to remove the in-game signs from highways alone? Cheers guys
  8. Cheers! Its quite interesting to read about how most countries originally drove on the left, then swapped for different reasons (yes, quite sad now I think about it). Theoretically though, its safer for the majority of humans to drive on the left. Most people have a more dominant right eye. You want the more dominant eye to be closer to oncoming traffic so you can see further down the road when attempting to overtake. Of course, I would assume the benefits of a few lives saved annually would be too small for a large country to radically modify all its existing infrastructure for. Interesting concept though.
  9. Hey, I downloaded marshmallows London map, but it doesn't want to install correctly. I created a new region folder and stuck the .bmp in there. I then stuck the 250m mod in my plugins folder as requested. Opened the game, did the ctrl alt shift r thing and selected the jpg The region then loaded, but the river edges were very jagged, and there were random lakes on city borders - nothing like the image. I then found the import.dat file which was in the folder I downloaded which the 250m mod was in, so I stuck that in the plugins folder and tried again. The map then loaded, but was all brown and way too high up (no water) so I went into every city and lowered the map using game tools. However, the entire region is covered in little jagged hills - not smooth like the preview image of the region. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?
  10. Hi, I'm a long time lurker of these forums and an avid fan of the simcity series. I have a problem with a couple of my cities in SC4. I have a huge metropolis of about 900,000 people on a large rectangle of land and I recently built a large city next door to it. It is 99% residential, and I have 2 highways and 1 avenue leading into my megacity, each with 15-20 thousand vehicles travelling into it for work. Here is the problem. I built the residential city in one go without ever quitting to connect up the highways to my big city. It didn't seem ot make a difference as everyone was able to get to work. When the pop. reached about 120,000 I decided to enter my large city. I connected up the highways to my grid, but whenever I query it, it doesn't show any cars coming in from my residential city. I've left it for about 10 game years now and every time I query it it doesn't show any cars coming in. When I load up the residential city, it shows about 20,000 cars travelling on each link. I've tried demolishing the links on both sides and reconnecting them, but it doesn't make a difference. Any ideas on how to make the traffic showin my huge city? I'm thinking maybe the game refuses to show the cars since the links were 100% conjested from when I built them (thats what it says when I query it on the residential side). Help would be appreciated! Thanks guys

  13. Trouble with inter-city traffic

OK, so the city people commute to doesn't have to deal with traffic problems, but they do benefit from increased demand for jobs. Thanks

  15. Laying down subway

To Lirrer That didn't work for me as it says I need to exit underground mode to use the data view. My solution is to lay the subway lines along a road and place the stations besde that road, then go back underground to see if Any of my stations are not adjacent to the line and connect them accordingly.
