The Amber Fields Community Church in the previous update is great... I like your country settings. Good Job on this, though I have only read up through page 80 or so on it! So big!

Dawn. Early 1990's. The sun rises over the ridgeline of this unknown and unmapped island. Its existance long forgotten. Something happened here, but that something is forever locked away in the vaults of the Central Intelligence Agency. Forgotten, desolate, and lifeless. This has been the story of Romenoch Island for nearly 30 years now, remenants of a bygone generation of war, technological research and the Cold War. Dawn, 1953 In 1943 Romenoch Island was discovered. This was the era before satellite imaging of Earth. Discovered in the south pacific by the US Navy, this island was immediatly deemed classified by the government. The rather large island group would not be placed on any other map or textbook. The island would not be colonized or used by society. All records said this island did not exist. US forces dropped the two bombs that ended World War Two, and interest in Romenoch Island waned to a point it was all but forgotten for 10 years. In 1956, the island 'awoke' and small buildings were built on it by the US Government as claiming the island as their own. And it did not take long for the government to realized that this unknown island was the perfect place to conduct research, void of any treaties, or alliances, void of any detection at all. Army Engineers were deployed to the island, completely unknowing themselves where they were to construct an airport, and a small town, capable of housing 1200 people, and also other building shells. The government wanted things built but they wanted nobody knowing what was being built there, including the Army personnel. In 1959 Project Romenoch officially began, and many US Scientists were rounded up, and sent to the island. Scientists who specialized in atomics and biology, and under the direction of the United States Government conducted their research in secret from the world for 12 years, when in 1971 everything stopped. Lives were lost. All life. The buildings abandoned, the power plant shut down, and the island lost contact with its only source once again, for nearly a year. Nobody knows what happened that year, but what is known is that the buildings were all set on fire and destroyed. Buildings were bulldozed. The airport was ground up. And back at the CIA, paperwork was shredded... all paperwork. For an unknown reason Romenoch Island was once again abandoned. And it sat, for a half century. Dawn. July 9, 2019. Richard Romenoch, an active sailor, and internet junkie was on Google Earth, in a new century, charting his next trans-pacific sailing attempt, this time from his home in Seattle Washington, to Auckland New Zealand. He plotted his course based off wind and water currents, when he noticed on his computer screen that his line of path was right through a black box, where apparently the earth-mapping satellite had apparently missed. "Its just more ocean" he thought to himself, and thought nothing about it. November 11, 2019, Richard recalled to himself that little unmapped area on his computer screen. He thought about it a lot now that he was standing on land... a big island. He sailed around the island for several days and realized that the island was not inhabited, and probably he never was. He noted its position on his GPS and planned for a return sometime in the future.

Your transportation maps are amazing. I like how it just seems to curve around like that. Upon a closer look, I see how you did it, and I gotta say, that would NOT be a good neightborhood to be drunk in!!!!.. Maybe prohabition is in the books for your city? For as big as it is, it sure does have a nice small-town feel to it, which I like. Great Job

REPLIES Super_Monkey - Thank you, I will try to update this as often as I can. I am building it now, so it should be at least once every day or two. PhilsCafe - Thanks, I am not too good at doing storylines, but I will try my best on this one. Appreciate the read Schulmanator - Thank you, I will try my best to make the plot work out. Of course a story such as yours is hard to top. Well done on that. Markus J - I agree, there are too many avenues, But one thing I hate more than anything are clogged streets. You will see a boom in population once the central park area gets developed, and the avenues will become necessary, and well though out by Mr Romenoch. Sneak Peak at what is Next As the work crews work hard to expand the highway system eastward, into the next Bloc, (my cities will be called Bloc's on this island), Romenoch Island will seek to farther establish itself with the outside world, and Mr Romenoch himself will head the design team to create the Central Park. Richard Romenoch thinks big... and Central Park will be no exception. **On a side note, map credits will be given on the next update. I got rid of the yellow pause line, and working more on the quality of pictures. I dont have photoshop, but I am going to experiment on getting rid of the dark blue edges by merging pictures together. Bear with me on that one.

Richard Romenoch had seen changes in his life. He was born in the Cold War, he saw the collapse of the Berlin Wall, he saw the 'Roaring 90's' . September 11th, was burned into his mind, and he witnessed the failure of the War on Terrorism. He saw the rise of the North American Union, and when Canada, Mexico, and the United States merged, and he witnessed firsthand the rise GloboTech. GloboTech was his company. GloboTech was the worlds company. Its beginnings arose after the death of Alfred Merdock, and the five major media outlets merged. This merger spawned another merger with AOL-Time Warner, and GloboTech was born. The media outlets joined, and brought on the North American Union, dispite opposition, and the era of Political and Company mergers was born. Richard Romenoch rediscovered Romenoch Island (named after himself), and he knew he had the opportunity to build the perfect community. Richard wanted to build the worlds first corporate-owned nation-- from the ground up. Being the head of GloboTech gives you certain privilages, and this is one of those. Richard acquired international property rights on the island, and spend the next several years building up the islands infrastructure. A small international airport was constructed, as well as a small highway system. And contracted Asian Architects to construct housing. Only 1000 people moved there that first year, and many people rented out the massive apartment complex for vacation get-a-ways. The residents were employed by GloboTech to construct the highway systems, which payed very well. The first city on the island was named 'Genesis' Genesis International Airport Small housing community, they mostly work construction jobs here. Below is the basic grid of Genesis. an Asian Architect firm built the two towers, and were housed by mostly construction workers, who built the small houses in the picture above. Romenoch was fast on its way to international recognition. But what would the United Nations have to say about this?
