  1. Maxouben's Urban Parks Kit

Nice, I'd like to see the backalley pieces with fences/walls though.
  2. SC4 almost unplayable

I must take back my words. The trick worked for me once, after that it doesn't do it anymore. So I am still stuck with the same problem. Thank you anyways, Cathy.

This confuses things a bit. Normally your issue will be resolved by finding the proper video card drivers and setting the "video card system" (called "Catalyst" on ATI, don't know what on nVidea) and being sure that the GAME determines the video settings (on ATI this is called "set by program" or some such).. I assume nVidea has a similar setting. Also you will almost certainly find threads on the video card driver support site regarding SC4 as it is a popular game.. (or in this case it will be confused by the fact that Acer is probably the required support supplier rather than direct from nVidea)quote> Alright, I'll try some fiddling around with card settings and perhaps to fish an answer from nvidia/acer then. Thank you.

Thanks for all the help, but I am still looking for solution. 6. Hello, I recently bought a nerw laptop (ACER AS 5739G) and just got SC4 installed, patched and plugins transferred from old PC. However, I have ran into unexpected trouble. The game loads alright and I have no problems in region view but once entering a city, the FPS drops to below 10 whenever I move (the movement is also very jerky) the screen or place something on the city tile (the FPS is quite alright when staying still and watching the pretty emptiness). Now I have seen and heard similar happening to other people, but they always assured me it's related to ATI cards. My card in use, however is nvidia's GeForce GT 240M (yes, with latest drivers). I have tried looking for solution here on simtropolis and elsewhere on the net without much success, so I hope someone here could help me out. Other games seem to work fine even with highest settings, yet even reducing settings does not seem to help with SC4. If there's anything else you need to know, feel free to ask. Thanks in advance!
  7. Problem with config.bmp

  8. Problem with config.bmp

Alright I did another test, I edited the config.bmp and created a new region folder for it. This was the result: What the colours mean: Teal: This is where there should have been a large (3x3) tile, I didn't touch to this part of the config file. Green: This should be part of another large 3x3 tile, an area to which I didn't touch either. It seems that there's one medium (2x2) and two small (1x1) tiles missing here. Red: These are two small tiles I did create and they have converted fine. Yellow: This is where I created a medium tile. However, in reality the area is part of a large tile. Lila: These are also part of a larger tile while they should be small tiles. Here is the config.bmp: I have simply no idea what I have done wrong.
  9. Hello everyone. I am sorry to bother you with what I would guess is a simple problem, but I can't seem to be able to find a solution to this on my own. I downloaded a map called 'NHP Ivermere Lake' and everything is fine, except that I can't seem to be able to get my custom config.bmp to work. The problem occurs with terraformer, which fails to open the config file and tells me: "A problem has occurred while reading the region. Maybe it is too large for your RAM." Now I am quite sure RAM has nothing to do with this (I have 3GB of it, but that's not why I doubt it), because this message only pops up when I am using a config file created by myself. This far I have tried the following: 1. Create region in SC4. 2. Exit the game. 3. Open the region in Terraformer ------> works fine. It also works when I replace the default config.bmp created by SC4 with the one that came with the NHP map. However, since it is made entirely of largest tiles, I would like to customise it a bit. I have tried 1) creating new config.bmp, 2) editing the one created by SC4 (after adjusting it to fit the actual map of course and 3) edit the config.bmp that came with the map. All these result to the abovementioned error message by terraformer. I have also tried manually creating a new folder for the region, but this just gives me similar errors as above; the config.bmp coming with the map works but I can't customise it. I would be glad if someone could help me with this matter. I will atach both, the custom config.bmp as well as the one which came with the map I downloaded in case there's some problems. I have used proper colours but this is the first time I am creating a config.bmp, so there could be some errors. The first one is my creation while the second one is the original config file. I am sorry if this is the wrong section for this. In such case feel free to move this thread.

    Great work!
  11. Trying to find a mod

Thanks. I guess I'll try out the 'Less Abandonment' -mod. The other one seems like a cheat to me. And thank you for the help, I know what causes dilapidation, but as I usually build for the aestethics and looks rather than practicality (if you get what I mean), I wanted to find a mod that removes the run-down looking houses. However, Iguess the Less Abandonment mod is even better than what I had in mind. Kazmir.
  12. I heard there's a mod that prevents dilapidated buildings to look like it, so I was wondering the name of it as I cannot seem to find it. I wouldn't want to use a mod that completely prevents dilapidation; just for prevent them from looking run-down and ugly. Any help appreciated, Kazmir.
