Replies Smarty218: i'll remember that the next time i take a pic in that area. do you have any other cheats i should use? bbfan02: custom content may come later in the project. i might do what MrJakesWar said. sounds better to me. jacqulina: thank you. and i do plan to take my time. i dont think this will last as long as schulmanator's, but i hope this will go until my computor crashes or something. RJN: thanx man. i hope it stays that way. Update! ok people, so i just wanted to show a new area that ive worked on. first, 3 region pics. as you can see, i have started to develop in Rutherfield, to help with the job problems in Somala. here is the first development in Rutherfield, 4 farms. the blank line is where trees will grow to seperate the two farms. i also like what i did with the bridge. i know it doesn't seem like a big achievement, but i thought it was cool. instead of having sharp ending, i smoothed it out...nothing big. ok, for the big job makers, i built an area for big idustries. here was the process. the last shows the stop in demand for the area. so, thats all. just wanted to keep you over for a while. don't know when the next update will be, but could be some time. see you all later.

i prefer suburban to urban. but thats just me. i dont really like the city, and since ive lived in the suburbs all my life (which, in florida, is most of the state) i prefer the smaller communities. now i dont like the sprawl. that is what happened to the city next to mine. its planners just said "GO!!!" to the contractors, and now its going downhill. but when i get older, i know im not gonna be in the city, just close so i have the ammenities. so my vote is suburbs.

Replies: MrJakesWar: i like that idea, making it, then some custom. we'll see how far this goes untill i decide to do that. Smarty218: i guess you didnt see the first post. o well. this is a vanilla cj. it may turn later, but we'll see. Mike the Mayor: thank you Update 2!!!!!!! ok, so i told you we would get one this week, so here it is. the (almost) complete Somala! the only thing missing now is a couple of commercial lots. since we last met, there has been a couple of changes. the big one is the development, but if you noticed, all the roads around the farms were...roads. i changed all of them to streets to make it like a countryside, but i left a main road straight down the middle. that is where we see our first new building. the farmers market. after many years of bugging and harrassing (why? i dont know) the farmers finally got their own market to sell their fresh and organic products (all with a bonus of pesticides!) now the increase demand of people towards these parts of the valley supported the development of the opposite side of the farms. with new people means new demands. the local residents wanted a safe place for them and all their kids, so the put aside an area for schools, a clinic, and parks. now remember that industrial area that the mayor put on the side? well he changed his mind and put them in a corner, and next to the dump. he decided that if they wanted to pollute, then they could go next to the worst smelling area of the city. the second ones were lucky. so, after many years of debate, the people of Somala have decided that they are not safe. they wanted increased funding for police and fire departments. well the mayor decided to agree to one of those, the fire department. the first station landed near the first developed area. the second can be seen in the first pic of the new residential area. now for the old places. after many years growing and cultivating trees to restore the forest for cleaner air, the forest on the bottom of the hill is getting taller. Thousand Oaks Estates has also seem improvments in their trees. ok, so i dont have any new pics on other tiles like my hint said. sorry, but that will come soon enough. i will tell you that it will be in...

very cool use of the pond pack. and cool neighbor hood around it. now that tunnel on the last pic, how did you get it across the river? did you raise the land and then lower it? and for the two rivers, how about Wolboro River and Tempest River. i dont know, those were just spontaneous suggestions .

only 20 towns. man, you know how to keep it going. and that feilds of gold town is excellent. so with these 20 or so towns, how big is your population?

Terraformer - region size problem
jjune4991 replied to Evil Weasel's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
just to clarify, red is 1 tile, green is a 2x2 tile, and blue is a 4x4 tile. if you make tiles with a certain color and wrong configuration, the region will crash. -

Replies: Almighty Nienaber: the first update is here jacqulina: thank you. i really like how that river came out Artur_001: thank you bbfan02: the winding river was the easy part. now the development is harder for me. Schulmanator: o i know. but i just dont like those comments. and plus, this may turn into a vanilla with sprinkles cj...only time will tell... Simtastico: thanks. i may need luck. TRNSTN: thank you. i really hope i plan this one well. i have done some cities in the past, but have destroyed them b/c i didnt like them too much. and the farms just grew by themselves. i'm guessing they are the fields before the planting. they stay that way. ok. so i dont have an update right now, but i will soon. maybe 3 or 4 days. i know, the anticipation mounts, but we'll get through. maybe we may see another tile being developed (hint hint).

very cool my friend. constuction is going according to plan. those drivers will be very pleased when this is over. -
ok, so im not gonna show you each city tile finished. so here is what i have now. this is the tile of somala: it is a small town, with about 1000 people...i think here is the downtown and commercial area: you can see the main high school and most of the $$ residents. here is two areas of dirty industry. the first shows the coal power plant. heres the dump: and the farming areas: now for the other residential areas, the first is to the south, and is wealthier, and the second is just a sprawl. and lastly, thousand oaks estates. i call it that because i planted about 1000 oaks around the area . kinda looks like an alien head. so there it is. small yes, but hopefully it will grow to something bigger. see you next time.

i can see you like trees...a lot. very a lot. the industrial park looks hidden in the forest!
