  1. Solution to the left/right driving issue

hmm I just tried it, because I have the european version (live in holland) and chose English while installing people are driving on the left lane instead of the 'normal' right side. I've changed it to 1 in the registry because it's said here that it is the one for english language and driving the right side lanes, instead it made the game dutch language and people were still driving on the 'wrong' side of the street. I don't want dutch despite living here, I just want english and left hand drive (right side lane).
  2. SC4 Deluxe crash to desktop

  3. Hello all, I've been looking at posts on the forum and searching on google but so far haven't found anything that helped me out. I'm falling victim to random crashes to the desktop. It all goes very smoothly just the wrong kind of smooth. I'm playing for an arbitrary amount of time and an arbitrary size city when all of a sudden it smoothly poofs and I see my desktop, no hd rattling, no choking of sc4, nothing just a *poof* and I'm staring at icons... Here's my system information to start with: AMD Athlon X2 4200+ AM2 MSI K9N SLI, nForce 570 SLI chipset motherboard using the onboard realtec sound chip Geforce 7600GT 256MB PCIe factory oc'ed but downclocked to nvidia's recommended speeds. 3 GB Infineon DDR2-667 MHz dual channel (+2Gb virtual memory for a total of 5 gb) Single western digital sata2 harddisk Windows XP Professional SP2 32bit Nforce 163.x (haven't updated to 169.x since everything works like clockwork, it's only sc4 having issues but it's on my hd waiting to be installed one of these days) DirectX 9.0c very latest build (11-2007 I believe) Other drivers are either up to date or confirmed stable with everything else on a 1 year old windows installation (I take good care of my system.) AMD Dual core optimizer/driver and MS dualcore hotfix installed System is clean, scanned, defragged, error checked, memtest(ed) etc. No issues. Currently running the following without any issues for comparison: Bioshock, crysis, sim city societies, photoshop, 3d studio max, COD4, counterstrike source and the list goes on of stuff I played or worked with a little or a lot lately. No other apparent issues on the system. SC4 information: Sim City 4 Deluxe 1.1.638.0 Some official landmarks (i.e. stonehenge) and NAM. Nothing I found in threads about crashing to desktop so far is either applicable to me or didn't help. I still need to try the 4gb virtual memory setting, it seems a bit superfluous to me regarding my system and the fact that it runs completely smooth, it even poofs to my desktop smoothly I will try it tomorrow regardless. I would post the error log, except, there isn't one -sigh- If anyone has any other idea then the common suggestions in most of the threads about similar problems then please. PS. Wouldn't it be a good idea to make a sticky with known issues that have been discovered with threads and so on? like incompatble driver versions, processes which one definitely needs to kill before playing, known incompatibilties etc... just a thought
  4. a little late but seeing as noone answered and it might be searched for in the future: You have the international version and installed english language correct? They changed it because they asumed the international english language version would be played only in the UK where they drive on the left lane instead of the right lane.
