  1. Reinstalling Problems

Tungston: Running it directly from setup.exe did not work. NetPCDoc: Everything the link suggested had already been done.
  2. Reinstalling Problems

Running this on Windows (although on an Apple box) is exactly the same as running it on a Dell or any other PC --- should have nothing to do with my problem. I just uninstalled Deluxe. Then when I go to Install it (Autorun comes up, I click Install) then it crashes. It says that the .exe file that crashed was in fact the uninstaller exe, even though I clicked install. I checked Program Files, the registry, and My Documents --- deleted everything.
  3. Reinstalling Problems

Correct. Running in Boot Camp 2.1 --- but that shouldn't have to do with anything (unless it's a driver problem). If it's worth noting, I have plenty of games that run just fine on this, have run SC4 like this for about 16 months - actually that's not true. I ran SC4 + Rush Hour Disk for a while but bought Deluxe because I gave my older disks to my brother.
  4. Reinstalling Problems

Sorry tungston, here is my dxdiag. DxDiag8.txt
  5. Where to Start

Can I download both packs or will they conflict?
  6. I just uninstalled Sim City 4 Deluxe with the intention of reinstalling. When I put disk 1 in to install, the installer crashes (SimCity4_Uninst.exe has crashed, send error...). I system restored to two days ago, but the game did not run. My good intentions have run awry. Any thoughts on why the installer might crash?
  7. Where to Start

I've been playing SC4 on and off for years now, but have not really kept up with the modding community. I downloaded NAM, but, looking at everyone's city journals, you all are doing tremendously complex things that require some dependencies. I have plenty of bandwidth, hard drive space, and a capable machine. So, I am considering completely uninstalling SC4 Deluxe and starting over completely. If I do this, I have the following questions (I did look at the Omnibus): What is a good region that is large but varies in terrain? What are the best NAM install settings for a good computer and someone who wants realistic cities? What do you think the other essential mods are other then NAM (and other than ones mentioned in this topic)? Also, do the BSC and NDEX have "mega packs" instead of just individual files? I have a bit of free time this summer, and I want to do some work in Deluxe. I'd appreciate your responses, even though they are some pretty standard questions. Thanks
  8. London vs. Paris

I have been to Paris, London, and New York City. New York City is the best 'city', because it has many different kinds of people and infusions of culture. Paris, between Paris and London, is better to visit, and more pleasant. I have 'seen all the sites' in Paris and London, and, to be quite honest, I find London to be a bit boring. Paris just has this feel to it that makes it better then London, in my opinion.
  9. STEX Question

I was about to press the donate button to get volumes 1 & 2 of the DVD collection, but it occured to me, aren't a lot of the files going to be out of date? I would just like some honest guidance - is it worth buying now, 2 years after press time?
  10. Transit Supermod V2.0

I did install NAM, I installed everything in the order it was presented in on this page: https://www.simtropolis.com/modding/index.cfm?page=1&cat=The%20Essentials
  11. Hi everyone, I am new to Simtropolis, but I've been playing Sim City 4 Rush Hour for years. I downloaded and installed everything in your "essentials". When I was about to install Transit Supermod V2.0, I noticed I didn't really know what 3 to drag in. I don't really know what each of those files mean. Can someone send me link, or explain it to me or perhaps I just missed it somewhere in the forums. Thank you for your help.
