  1. Ah I see, traffic noise for residential is directly related to customers for commercial. Well that sucks... there's no way to prevent residential areas from having high traffic noise in big cities, is there?

There'll be a file called "Traffic Simulator" Exemplar. Halfway down the list in this file, there is a property called "Network Traffic Capacity" which handles the capacity for the different networks. Road is the first value in this property. Take caution when making any changes though.quote> EXACTLY what I needed, thank you! I changed the speeds as well... I mean... it didn't make any sense logically. If the original speed was about 40 kmph for a car on a street (I forgot the original value already), and a large map is 4 kilometers wide... that means it takes SIX minutes to travel across the map to get to a job. And most of my jobs weren't that far away! Six minutes is nothing to complain about. And would there be any unwanted side-effect to reducing traffic noise generated?
  3. Anyone? I can't even find Roads in iLive or anything. I thought this was an easy change.

Bus, Subway, ElTrain, Railway, Monorail, you name it. The trick to keep tyraffic going is the right balance between cars and MT - in Sc4 as well as IRL. But different than RL a powerful and well used MT system in SC4 is able to produce a real nice income for your city! Bernhard quote> Because it's the only thing that bothers me in this game. In one of my cities, I'm taking full advantage of avenues, one way roads, highways, buses, monorails, and subways and yet most of my streets are STILL red. And it's not as though they're not using them. I don't care about realism for this. I want my roads to be able to hold enough people in a mature city. I want my citizens to stop complaining about long commutes too. I used to drive 40 minutes to work every day, they shouldn't complain about a short trip on the highway haha. And I have NAM installed, but I'll look to see if there's anything I missed.
  5. If there's one part of this game that drives me crazy, it's the traffic congestion. No matter what I do, big cities always have all-red roads. I did this years ago when I used to play. I increased the number of cars that roads and avenues could hold by like... 1000% and increased the speed of the commute. Now that I'm trying to do it again, I can't figure out how. Anyone care to help? EDIT: Meant roads, not streets... always get them mixed up.
